Maybe it is hardware limited, but if so put out a statement to gen1 owners that explains the rationale.
Certainly legal reasons in our sue-happy society.

I’d say by next weekend.

You set a time of departure and the car calculates when it needs to start to hit your departure time.
Got it. thanks. How accurate was it with the Tesla? Sounds like Rivian should work on this after they fix the L2 cold weather charging issues on G2 vehicles.

Worked perfectly in my lowly Bolt so I‘m sure others can duplicate if they want. ?

I prefer that approach because if you REALLY need a certain charge level and can’t get there in your normal schedule window the vehicle would start early, guaranteeing you get what you need. Versus it starting on schedule and “timing out” before getting to your target.

My R1T will not run my furnace. Natural gas forced air furnace.
If this is an actual use case for you, get a soft start for the blower motor.

Overall, very solid update. I'm excited.

So for the go chime, does it not work if you're in the front of a line at a stop light?

Also, I wonder if the enhanced highway assist just does away with the wheel touching requirement or if the actual driving is also updating with regards to centering, dealing with close cars, etc.

Looking forward to the sound improvements too.
I think they'll launch this when self-driving will be available. For the time being, it's just checking for the proximity of the vehicle in front of you.

It worked well with the Tesla. I charge to 90% each day, and it would be nice to not be sitting at 90% for 3 hours each night. Also, starting your drive in the morning on a warmed up battery is more efficient, I think.

I could change my start time to midnight, but that won't be enough on longer travel days, and I don't want to constantly have to think about when my charge starts. So 9:00 PM it is, so I can take advantage of the off-peak credit and get a solid 9 hr window to charge.

Um, wait. That sounds like a very simple approach. Does that simply mean a motor that can start up without a huge power draw?

Can a lot of motors have a “soft start”? Like, could my well pump have a soft start? Can my pool pump?

If we can reduce the amps needed to start a lot of appliances, that could allow us to get by with smaller generators, batteries, wires, and the like.

I still want my Rivian motors to be able to do a very fast start, but my furnace? There I’d rather have a lower power draw.
