My R1T will not run my furnace. Natural gas forced air furnace.
That forced air is forced by an electric blower...

I’m betting it’s the blower amperage not the fact they think there’s no electricity to it?
Many newer systems have fully electric ignition systems. Can’t even (safely) ignite them without electricity

I didn't read through this thread, but I have to wonder about the Dual Motor all-purpose clunk fix.

Are we getting a silent fix for this?

Correct, however they are usually not hard wired either; a standard 115V 3 wire plug is common which would connect to the convenience plugs.

I’m happy to see the tire/wheel changes! The mileage logging is an unexpected added bonus! Still waiting on launch mode like others ?

I’m really hopeful for the increased infotainment stability…mine has been crashing often when I get in after work. Maybe it’ll happen to help BT connections too! Regularly my phone connects and starts my media without sounds. Have to disconnect/reconnect phone to clear up.

1 camera on small cellphone like device integrated into all the other camera and sensors in the car. If these guys can figure it out, no reason Rivian couldn't implement that logic themselves. If driver+ worked close to that, I'd be fine with it.
The Mobileye 'cameras' don't actually output a raw video feed directly - my understanding is that they output three things:
  1. A stream of vector data, that represents where the road lines are, the co-ordinates of other vehicles, people, bikes etc
  2. A video feed with that data overlaid
  3. A stream of commands to be used by the ecu's: speed up, slow down, turn left a bit, turn right a bit etc.
Rivian originally hoped they could use #1 and #2 to drive input into their own ADAS built, but as a result of the latency on it - this approach was flawed - though its perfectly fine to use as intended, for the infotainment display etc. This is also one of the reasons why comma etc use their own camera.

If you have Reddit, send Wassym a private message, he's pretty good about answering questions from owners as they come up.

There's always some issues that are fixed in a software update that aren't covered in the official release notes. This could be one of them.

Someone else mentioned the same hope and if I were yall I would open a service request for this issue because its could be more than just a software problem. My dual motor is smooth as butter FWIW.

I agree, as some have mentioned a clunk, I've been wondering if I'm missing something because I haven't heard/noticed anything, I drive in AP mode all the time. DM performance R1S FWIW.

I guess it's possible. Between here, Rivian owners and Reddit -- there are probably 50 to 100 owners complaining about it just after the update.

When you're driving at 75 mph and you toggle between all-purpose and snow mode with some throttle applied, there's no perceptible thump during engagement? Mine is jarring.

My heater is on a 15amp breaker. You would think my truck could handle that.

Oh, I thought all these complaints were for the use case where you're in AP and its switching between FWD and AWD. I have switched between sport and AP on the highway maybe once or twice. I am heading on a 400mi round trip this weekend so I'll play around with drive mode changes while under throttle and at speed and see if I can reproduce the issue.

pretty awesome set of features and updates!!

excited for the bug fixes as always, and the new excited to try new Enhanced Highway Assist

also great to see them improving the Sound system still. there is much room for improvement here.

Highlights - Major Features
  • Enhanced Highway Assist allows hands-free driving with Driver Attention Detection [Gen 2]
  • New Go Chime feature alerts you when vehicle ahead drives away [Gen 2]
  • Wheel and Tire Swap feature allows saving up to six configurations with accurate range estimates
  • New Rally drive mode added for Performance Dual-Motor vehicles
  • Performance Upgrade now available for purchase on eligible Dual-Motor vehicles, adding Sport, Soft Sand, and Rally modes
  • Auto-Tilting Side Mirrors in Reverse feature added (disabled by default)
It’s just staggering to me that this truck still doesn’t have voice texting.

Wassym replied on Reddit that the Chime is coming to Gen 1.

Good news. As I was driving (Gen1) today and using Driver Plus on a mapped freeway while stuck in stop and go traffic, I realized that if Rivian can detect when the stopped vehicle in front of me has moved and automatically proceed forward, then it would stand to reason that when stopped when ADAS was not enabled, that Rivian Gen 1 could chime when the vehicle in front drove off. Good to hear that Rivian will implement this on Gen1. I'm still crossing fingers that green light detection will come as that was one of the features I liked in my Model S.
