You won't find that answer here. Only Rivian can answer that.So when exactly is the update going out?
Definitely not before the new version of the app is out.You won't find that answer here. Only Rivian can answer that
Yeah there's never really an exact date. If you use Electrafi.com you can see when software starts pushing out fleetwide, but usually once release notes are made public it's anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks, unless there's an issue found and they have to pull back the release. So when exactly is the update going out?
Ignorance is blissA huge improvement in my experience on this forum!!! I never knew you could ignore a person posting here. I have lots of "ignoring" to do which is going to make reading more enjoyable.
Doubt that. If you've seen Ford's infotainment system in the lightning, it is very crude. Kind of sad.The way that Ford's mobile eye systems perform isn't necessarily an indicator for how Rivian's mobiley eye system should perform. Remember, Mobile eye has multiple products, with multiple revisions that all have different capabilities.
I can think of a few possible reasons why the one Rivian went with might be less capable than Ford's. For example
- Ford is a MUCH larger company with much more leverage. When Rivian was sourcing parts for Gen 1, they may not have been able to get a higher end system from mobile eye at a reasonable price (RJ has mentioned more than a few times how difficult supply chain sourcing was for Gen 1)
- Maybe Rivian intentionally got a lower end system with less capability because they were intending to inject their own software anyway (a plan which clearly didn't work out for them)
All of this is speculation, of course. But all this to say, I don't think Rivian is INTENTIONALLY kneecapping Gen 1 driver assistance performance. I think it just is what it is. Certainly it's to their advantage, as it's a selling point for the newer stuff, but I don't think it's intentional segmentation.
I just came here to say the same thing. All ready for 2025.06 to roll out...the app 2.20.0 is out (App Store / apple at least) and I updated it. R1T is in service - so there isn't much for me to look at in terms of the PDM offer.
I know, I miss that most from the vehicle that shall not be named. Why is Departure Charging still not an option?
How is departure charging different than scheduled charging? Why is Departure Charging still not an option?
