I think this is just a regular 14-50R and the thing you all think is an L at the bottom position is actually just the normal ground pin with a confusing shadow because the camera is a potato.
I concur, but think it's a 14-50m. The m is for mallet, make sure you bring one to make it fit 🔨

These will all fit in that outlet, some charge faster than others:

I actually tried to “fix” an outlet when I was a little kid by shoving a fork into it. It didn’t end well. 😱

I simply don't understand how a potato could generate that light reflection that runs down the center of the ground pin.
It's probably the metal contact behind the plastic face. Look at this one for example, how the reflection of the metal almost lines up with the center of the ground socket when viewed from this angle. If you copied a picture of it at the library 30 times in a row I can see where the L shape would come from.

I've seen some non-standard ones that are designed that way to be able to accept multiple compatible cords, but there are no nema outlets with four vertical blades, so this doesn't make sense. There are also none with an L shape that has the flat side on the outside of the outlet.

If it's an airbnb and they aren't actually advertising it for EV charging, then they might have this included to try to weed out folks who ask about it because they want to make sure they can plug in. They don't want EV people using their electricity, and this outlet doesn't actually exist.
That's
A. brilliant,
B. diabolical,
C. egomaniacal,
D. a reasonable precaution.
E. all except D

I'm guessing E.

Charged extra for nothing.

So in the end, it was a bad picture that had us all stumped. The original picture has the same wall markings as your newest picture so it's the same outlet. Just a bad angle with shadows in the original picture. Enjoy your vacation!

Is it just me or is the ground pin off center on this new photo of the outlet?
