Getting excited for my R1S and it will be the first EV I have. I'm torn on if I should hardwire (for max amps) a charger in the garage or outside around the corner. It really depends on if the R1S will fit in my garage or not.

Anyway, I tend to have a lot of outdoor tools lining the sides of my garage and a large wood set of shelves in the back so looking for inspiration on clean installs for charges in the garage and thought it would be great to have a compilation of them here. Doesn't matter if it is the rivian charger, plug in, hard wired, etc.

Still need to complete the finish work, but here's mine. 2x Wallbox Pulsar Plus 48A in a load-sharing configuration. Allows each individual unit to reach a 48A peak or divvy a total of 48A between the two. I was a bit irked to discover mid-way through the install the additional sub-panel between the two wasn't necessary, but it works.

My garage is a disaster but we have two chargers on either side of the garage, one 30 amp for the BMW i3 and the 60 amp Rivian that is hard-wired.

Cool that you have 2. They don't talk to each other right? I will probably cut our drywall and fish the wire to avoid dealing with all the conduit.

I see a lot of good reviews on the Austel and wall box I have a rivian on my config but thing I'll get one of those two instead for the extra features.

Not a lot to show off. I need some Rivian wall art. I also need to relocate my clamps.

Doesn’t get any more simple or minimalist than this. 😂. I’m sure this is as clean as his new home will ever be.

They do not talk to each other. They go into a 100 amp sub panel that also has some household circuits. With both running they could pop the 100 amp circuit, but I try to stagger the charging.

I'm glad you posted this OP!

Just found out my utility company offers to cover the labor up to $1,500 for the install of an EV charger but I have to pick a juicebox or charge point flex...

If you guys had $1,500 to spend on an install with only a 25 foot run from the basement to the garage (adjacent) what would be on your wishlist?

I should clarify I still pay for the charger out of pocket but the install is covered. I got a quote for 750 for a 14-50 outlet but I'm thinking go big or go home...since I have "money" to spend. Should I put a sub panel in the garage, or any other random upgrades?

Juicebox if you ever plan on load-sharing, otherwise ChargePoint Flex.

I'm leaning charge point flex. For now I'll have my R1S but my wife still has an ICE. Even when/if she goes electric I doubt we will both need to charge at the same time. I WFH and barely put miles on my car.
