Yeah, I mean even Rivian didnāt come out with an R2T for a reason. The EV pickup truck market is in limbo right now with the F-150 Lightning canceled, RAM going EREV, etc. Weāll see how Slate and Fordās $30K Ranchero EV do.
Hopefully we can clean out all of these anti-EV politicians in the next...
I asked this question myself a few weeks back. These two crazy characters really explore the interior space. The one guy, who I think is 6ā2ā, sits in the space where the spare tire goes and puts his legs in the sub trunk. Itās deep, but doesnāt appear very wide. I think a frunk-based cooler...
Rivianās Georgia Plant site sees most activity in a year. More R2s, R3X/R3, exports to Europe, etc. This is the big time. Here we go! I think the official time line is to have everything up and running by the end of 2028 (2.5 years away)...
āScout EV production has been delayed multiple times, with the latest reports indicating that the Traveler SUV is now expected to begin production in 2028 and the Terra pickup in 2030, which is significantly later than the original schedule.ā
Scout Terra is turning into the next CyberTruck as...
Iām driving a leased Model 3 now. I could do a buyout at $26K at the end of next year. Iād like to support Rivian though. I want to see another US EV maker become successful. Prove the market wrong. We can grow the EV market organically if the form factor and price are right. We donāt want to...
The trouble is the R2 doesnāt exactly sync up with Tesla Model Yās pricing and/or features. I could do a lease payment of $450 a month, but thatās based on the Model Y Standard RWD. The R2 Standard RWD is closer in price to the Model Y Premium ($45K-$50K), but then the lease payment would be...
I agree with your business perspective. Rivian doesnāt want to create early adopter launch customers without RAP1+LiDar and those with it 6 months later. I think theyāll hit their 25K goal by the end of the year and that will be it for the launch package. The Premium might be the first R2 with...
There are also people waiting for a more affordable R2. Not everyone has $60K to drop on a vehicle, especially in todayās economy.
Unless I win one of these EV contests, Iāll be waiting for lease deals on the R2 Standard Long-Range RWD. If I canāt make that work Iām going to lease something...
Is your lease ending soon? I put my lease info in (Model 3 lease doesnāt end until Dec 2027) and they gave me the timeline of December 2026-February 2027 with most trims available.
It makes the most sense that they offer all of these extras for the R2 Performance with Launch Package as an incentive for early adopters. Then when the RAP1 + LiDar is available they drop the Launch Package and release the non-Launch Performance, Premium, and Standard trims. Youāll have to buy...
I truly believe that Rivian wants to become a mainstream automaker. They also donāt want to lose their adventure branding and will take everything theyāve learned from the R2/R3 and throw it back at the R1T/R1S. In many ways the R1 line was over-engineered and a lot more cost can be pulled out...
Thanks for all the great info.
In regard to your concerns about the R2 sharing the same suspension and brake components as the R1, it doesnāt have the same air suspension as the R1 models; instead, it features a more traditional suspension system.
The R2 doesnāt use the same half shafts as the...
I like your thoughts. I swear they were calling R2ās white color Cloud White Metallic at first. I guess it would have had metallic flake in it. More of a pearl finish. Unlike Glacier White, which seems very flat.
Catalina Cove isnāt the Laguna Beach Blue of the R3X, is it? Someone once told me...
It seems to me that Rivian has cooked up some new colors not just for the R2, but for the R1 as well. Hereās what I THINK replaces what and what stays the same (for now). I also wonder what possible new colors they might come up with at the Georgia Plant Paint Shop (Coming in late 2028?)
Please...
Tesla has a longer cable on their V4 charging stalls. They really need to retrofit the V3 stalls. And more pull-through stalls are needed. Glad you didnāt have any issues.
Check out the New River Gorge in West Virginia. Itās beautiful too. Thereās a section called The Endless Wall Trail with some amazing views. They even added these cast iron staircases where you can climb down into the Gorge. I really want to go back there.
I heard someone say you could get one cheaper at Tire Rack. It just has to have the same bolt/lug pattern and diameter, I think. It would be worth asking a tire expert. Spare tires shouldnāt be proprietary.
