'Behind' is subjective. And history indicates it is more 'rare' to to see X.x.0 release.Actually, it is "behind". They're up to the 2nd patch release already as the test trucks just got 2024.03.02 last night. Most releases we get as .0 and it's even rare that we see a .01 let alone a .02. As a software engineer it makes me wonder what issues came up already in testing, but glad they at least found them before we got the update this time.
While several recent releases have in fact been X.x.0 versions, the majority have included a patch or two. Software versioning traditional follows a very similar naming convention: Major.Minor.Patch
Rivian has clearly improved their UAT/QA, but patches are not unusual, unexpected, or anything to be concerned about. Software is iterative. Getting it right is better than getting it right the first time, as some owners unfortunately experienced with 2023.42.
