I'm taking delivery in Normal later today. They told me they currently are only doing deliveries at the front entrance. Not at the delivery space.

I was doing pickup in Atlanta but my VIN was stuck in a railcar for 10 days due to rail delays. Guide offered releasing my VIN and letting me get a new VIN with pickup at factory. I do not believe they're offering factory tours currently though.

I'm doing factory delivery. Car is in PDI currently, soon as it passes (they said maybe today) I can schedule pickup.

Feels like Rivian maybe instructed the service centers to wait until PDI is done before scheduling for a bit since there were so many reschedules. I'm picking up in Normal and they also said they can't schedule until PDI is complete.

I think they're more worried about brand reputational damage from having their brand new vehicle that the company literally depends on for survival driving around with mismatched panels...

Annnnnnnnd 5 hours later I have a new, earlier VIN. Old was 1830, new is 1345.

After talking to my guide, took their advice and unmatched my VIN and switched to factory pickup. Now we wait for a new VIN.

As someone who needs to book a one-way flight to pickup my R2... them rescheduling the day of delivery for you is terrifying me.

I just really wonder what happens if Rivian accomplishes their goals and gets the R2 to Tesla 3/Y-esque sales volume. Massive delays everywhere when they're only delivering 1-2k cars a month, and plans to delivery 10-30x that eventually.

Which Service Center you picking up from? Curious if there’s a correlation between distance from Normal, IL and waiting time for delivery.

All these posts of scheduling a date and then getting a delay is making me nervous. I live 5.5 hours from the service center so I planned to book a one way flight and fly in, pick up the car, and road trip it home. How do I confidently buy a flight if there's a decent change they delay delivery...

To further emphasize your point about budgeting $5k for wheels and tires. If you get the 20s and later regret it... I'm betting it will be way easier/cheaper to find someone selling the OEM 21s vs OEM 20s. Since all launch editions come free with 21s... it'll be the default choice for most...
