Rivian Service dented my car! 😳

Also, how about a shoutout for being able to chat with the SC finally!

20" MSW Wheel now available at Tire Rack.

Bought mine from Tire Rack and picked up at their warehouse in pristine condition. But we have a warehouse here in Denver, so that was easy.

    Unpredictable Accelerator

Sounds like a *you* problem...or there's something wrong with your pedal. I experience none of this. Are you driving in Sport mode all the time or something? A Rivian is not a Tesla and you can't expect the pedal to react the same way. I've owned 3 different EVs now and driven a few...

New iKamper Skycamp DLX RTT Video features R1S

I've had a Freespirit Recreation tent on my 4Runner that was by far the easiest to setup/teardown...but it didn't have awnings over the side windows so it sucked in the rain for ventilation. They don't even sell that model anymore, but the quality was decent. Most recently I had a CVT Mt...

New iKamper Skycamp DLX RTT Video features R1S

Stupid expensive for what it is. The "off-brand" tents often have a lot of the same features for half the cost. What I want to know is what's up with the accessory on the ladder that allowed the dog to walk up on its own?!?

Affordable Winter Wheels Setup: Ram 2363

Just don't use anything lower than Standard ride height. Low rubbed on bumpy roads for me...I wound up getting another set of stock offset wheels and got rid of the 2363s. That assumes you had the 20s from the factory (34" tires). Supposedly the folks running 33s don't necessarily have issues.

Deer on I-80...Not Visible in DriveCam

R1 does not have lidar. It has 5 (4 corners + 1 center of front bumper) radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors for close-in, and 10 cameras. https://rivian.com/support/article/what-hardware-is-included-in-rivian-driver

    Robocalls from Nationwide regarding renewal

Interesting. USAA sent me a notice in the mail c/o Verisk asking about annual mileage and odometer reading on my Corvette. My assumption is that they didn't believe the low miles I was claiming since they showed a laughable estimate of 12k miles per year. The past couple years it's been more...

    Colorado Tax Credits

So I submitted my taxes and included the registration and door jam sticker with the online e-filler attachment and STILL got the denial letter in the mail. WTAF is wrong with these people processing returns? Seems like every Rivian is just getting a blanket denial and no one seems to be...

2024.11.2 Software Update Released! => Release Notes: Send Navigation, Mapping, Charging Feedback/Scores + Rear Display Improvements + More

Yup...noted the same thing in the camera freeze thread. I think this is realistically the only way they could fix it easily. The previous update had it in the release notes, but it wasn't fixed. Almost like they forget to actually put it in the build and figured most people wouldn't notice if...

    Brake pad wear?

Definitely update us on what the SC says. Could be some corrosion or something on the bottom-right piston causing it to be sticky. I also have a Corvette with 6-pot front brakes and it's not uncommon for folks to have wear like this, but I certainly wouldn't expect these kind of issues so...

    Unreasonable extra costs

Yeah...still $1100 for our registration renewal in CO after the 1st year. Insurance is about $2k/yr for me. It's an expensive truck and expensive to repair. As for registration, I'm sure your state has tables you could've used to calculate the estimated charges before purchase.

Do you agree with the rivian rating at your local dcfc?

That's an excellent point. I charged at a station during my eclipse trip that wound up rated C because the data showed it as a 350 kW unit, but it was only delivering 150 kW. So even though it was a reliable charger in a fantastic location, its score suffered because it looked like it wasn't...

Do you agree with the rivian rating at your local dcfc?

That's going to be one of the issues with the way Rivian is scoring vs PlugShare. With PlugShare, a driver has to actively go check-in on the app, but that allows them to make negative charging reports. With Rivian, if you never plug-in or if the truck never detects that you've plugged-in...

Charging when home only has 30A circuit

Buy an EVSE with a settable current limit. DO NOT rely on the vehicle to respect a current limit in software...the EVSE tells it what the max charge current is. I've been charging on a 30A outlet for years now and set the EVSE to 24A with no issues.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 EV on dry roads

Not uncommon, sadly, to hear someone roll by in July/August with studs still on their car here in Colorado. For folks that actually live up in the mountains I get it, but anyone living in the city really shouldn't be running them year round. I ran Blizzak LT (studless) winter tires this winter...
