Check your seat bolts (missing in my R1T)

I have had some strange movement when leaning certain directions in my front passenger seat for as long as I’ve owned the truck, which normally doesn’t bother me because I’m not a passenger usually. This time after my dad rode in the truck and commented on it, I went hunting.

It didn’t take long to see the problem.

Posting in case it helps others find similar issues. I’m getting a service ticket created for this asap.

Man.. too many of these screws missing bolts loose. QC is a mess. If we were talking hundreds of thousands of vehicles being delivered and singular instances ok.. but with these low volumes, seriously concerning.

I always thought my Land Rover Disco had some cool spring-loaded bouncy seats... Then I found the loose bolt... Then I left the loose bolt because it was fun

There was one a few months ago with a vin in the 4000's with two missing seat bolts.

I'm going to guess that vehicle is one of those where they had to replace the front passenger seat because of the sensor issue earlier this year.

That is my guess too. I am thinking alot of stuff we see on the internet isn't actually assembly line random variation, but rather botched post assembly line repair, rework, etc... But just a guess....

Just an update to this: Around the same time I posted the thread I also submitted the picture and info to Rivian service. Today I was contacted and asked to schedule a pickup for tomorrow. They seem to be treating this seriously, which is appreciated. Unfortunately the closest service center is Atlanta still, and i'm in the Nashville area. They're also going to knock out a few of my other less pressing service tickets while they have it.
