You're citing old info.. this is 2026 and the battery recall campaign and the software/hardware fix is available... below is the official NHTSA status for my 2024 4xe. 68C is the battery recall, I had it performed back the spring of this year.
FWIW- no dealer in the USA is allowed to sell a...
That's completely inaccurate, the 68C battery recall is available for every 4Xe ever made. I had mine done, my battery passed with flying colors and now I've got an unlimited miles unlimited age warranty on the battery for any of the recall issues. Hardly the disaster you're describing.
^ if it's EV rated you should be fine, also consider using ferules on the ends of the cables, it keeps the bundle nice and tight as the tension screw is clamping down on it.
Is there a "out of warranty" period on a customer satisfaction campaign? It could be a case where they will update every early R1 that needs it at no cost. I'd check with Rivian on that...

Fisker gone, Polestar gone, Lucid on borrowed time.. not a good time for EV startups :(
On the bright side.. Slate is on track for deliveries this year with it's ultra cheap EV truck/Fastback/SUV. Riding the low price $25K wave.. right time, right place??
Hi Sid, great post! Is there anyone at Rivian you could send it to (in PDF form)? Sometimes I think they just keep rolling along ignoring issues. At least your post would give them well documented proof of real life vehicle problems their customer face and how that impacts potential future sales...
it would be fun to have one of those AI agents pretend like they're interested and drive the guy nuts with endless goofy questions and ridiculous offers..
Yeah, that tiny/narrow high pressure space saver is gonna dig in to the sand faster than a sand flea! If you got a flat on our sand, just drive out on it, then put on that bicycle tire once you hit pavement 😄

Unless you've been screwed by arbitration previously, it's not really something most think about when purchasing a new vehicle. It's also not something Rivian or any other manufacturer advertise. You need to look for it and some don't make that easy...
