  1. Reservation transfer possible ?

A few things tipped me over. 1. I wanted a luxury SUV. Comfort was a priority. Ride quality of the R1S seemed like a second thought. Wind noise also. 2. Basic issues such as poor alignment (I followed a new production R1S the other day and the rear camber was FUbAR). 3. Constant software...
  2. Reservation transfer possible ?

I am hoping they will pass on the 7k savings via lease (which will likely be less after all the associated lease fees). Alas, thatā€™s better than nothing. I doubt dealers will budge much. In July, they are rolling out iDrive8.5 with an updated GPU. Iā€™m going to hold until then to order and hoping...
  3. Reservation transfer possible ?

Thanks! Now I see you said iX. We already have a full EV and are looking for plug in. Charging infrastructure is annoying for non-Tesla. Good to know about the changes to ā€˜24
  4. Reservation transfer possible ?

Care to share this in detail with me in PM? That's excellent deal.
  5. Reservation transfer possible ?

I canceled reservation. Delivery ETA was 2H 2024. No way to easily transfer it without headache or forcing me to risk buying it up front. Given the woes expressed consistently on this forum, Iā€™m OK with the lost opportunity. Sorry folks, that I couldnā€™t transfer it.
  6. Reservation transfer possible ?

Thatā€™s what Iā€™m looking at as well. Was he able to qualify for lease credit of $7,500? Itā€™s mixed whether BMW is passing that credit on to consumers. Given they increased price by $7k over the 45e, I would sure hope so!
  7. Reservation transfer possible ?

The x5 is supposed to be glassy smooth yet sporty. 40+ miles of electric only range is perfect for 99% of my days.
  8. Reservation transfer possible ?

Iā€™m going to bow out of my reservation and move forward with a plug in X5. I finally saw a R1S in person and while I think itā€™s a great product for adventures, I donā€™t want to take on the early adopter risk. Is there a way I can give my pre-order to someone else to take advantage of? Not...
  9. Any Battery Degradation in your Rivian yet?

Beware of how you calculate degradation. BMS can be off by a few percent. Additionally, my total range shows way less in winter than it does in summer as it naturally accounts for weather impacts. If youā€™re not checking this with Tesla diagnostics, your numbers could easily swing 5-7% which...
  10. Is the R1T tie rod integral to the steering rack?

Good to learn this short coming. $5k for an integrated tie rod. Wow. This is not an adventure vehicle unless you like adventures to the bank.
  11. Count Orlok just ordered his Lightning... R1T in limbo

Truth comes out that R1 is not a smooth ride. Bummer. Iā€™ll likely see if anyone wants to buy the one we get delivered for a small token.
  12. Count Orlok just ordered his Lightning... R1T in limbo

I love the sporty handling of the Y. However, itā€™s not luxury smooth on crappy roads. This has me looking at the X5 50e. 40 miles of EV range and similar speed to LR MY. A nice balance. Better value than R1S in terms of Luxe and cost.
  13. 4/20: Tesla INCREASED prices on Model S/X. (Lol)

Interested in the X50 Plug In - anyone have experience in one of these?
  14. 4/20: Tesla INCREASED prices on Model S/X. (Lol)

My concern on Mazda is the lack of luxury internally as well as inherent road noise with that brand. However, I will be looking into this as an option. Iā€™d love a Defender 110 but convincing the wife to buy a gas guzzling British car is going to be impossible. With EV or PHEV, I can...
  15. 4/20: Tesla INCREASED prices on Model S/X. (Lol)

Add in that stupid vampire drain and it is definitely expensive. Our rates are close to that in the Bay Area as well. Model Y is still have the cost of our ICE car but a R1 is half as efficient and likely cost the same as ICE. The convenience factor is no gas station stops for day to day use...
  16. 4/20: Tesla INCREASED prices on Model S/X. (Lol)

Seems odd. I bet they drop within 30 days.
  17. Tesla Slashes Prices Again - $39,900 M3, $49,900 MY Long Range

I rarely use or rely on parking sensors of Tesla MY. The key is to back into tight spots. The sensors would always tell me to stop and I still had 6ā€ or so to maneuver. Iā€™m privileged in that Iā€™m tall and have great eye sight.
  18. Tesla Slashes Prices Again - $39,900 M3, $49,900 MY Long Range

Wasnā€™t this expected? They cut vehicle prices by 20% their margins would cut by 20%. However, If they remain PROFITABLE while operating, it should be a win. With goals to roll out more vehicles in future, they should do fine. What is needed is the Cybertruck to hit the ground. Iā€™m waiting for...
  19. Tesla Slashes Prices Again - $39,900 M3, $49,900 MY Long Range

Your view is objective and on point. Rivian is niche, as mentioned before, and has a cool factor. However, reliability, consistency, and quality lack. Spare wheel delivered in wrong color? Paint drops and scratches? Constant failures in air manifolds and motors? Doesnā€™t seem like itā€™s ready for...
