Yeah, I would change the title to *a different "discount tire".
That is terrible though and I can see how easy it can be to make that mistake.

Get the puck and keep it in you truck. Someone mentioned it in the forum a while back. I had a screw in my tire didn’t have a puck but repaired it myself. Getting those plastic panels off is a pain and one side is held with double sided tape. Having to put it back on using the same tape doesn’t seem soli , but i’ll wait and see.
Usually I post process as I do things but this one was easy.

This is such a bummer! The REAL Discount Tire is a stellar company. They rotate for free and even balance for free.

Keep a set of jack pucks in your truck. This is the first accessory we bought even before the truck was delivered.

The thing is they told me they were authorized by Rivian…. Which is like why even say that… Jesus… will be going to America tire.

Interesting. All the Discount Tire shops I go to in the San Diego area are called Discount Tire Co and are the same red and white set ups. They advertise their relationship with Rivian as well.
maybe it’s a NorCal thing?

I had a nail on the driver-side front tire of my R1T and I didn't have the tools to fix it. So, I went to Discount Tire (DT) to get it patched up. At DT, they said they didn't have pucks but had an adapter to lift my truck, and the manager there assured me that it was okay to use it. They also mentioned that they were authorized by Rivian, which made me trust them even more. After they finished patching up the tire, they did not mention anything to me, and I had to inspect the truck myself. To my disappointment, I found that the underbody plastic panels on both the driver's side and passenger side were bent inward. I immediately went to talk to the manager, who told me to email the picture of the damage and the incident to the corporate. I want to know whether anyone else has faced a similar situation, and if DT covered the expense of replacing the plastic panels.

This is why I only go to America's Tire. They do have the pucks and they rotate for free...yes, FREE. I felt bad that they did it for free, so I bought some windshield wipers from them as well as tire insurance.

Will not go anywhere else (other than Rivian SC). I also have the full-size spare that comes with the pucks as well as a jack.

That does not look like the real Discount Tire I have used for many years. DT does nothing but tires, wheels, wipers, and TMPS work.
As far as I am concerned, Discount Tire is second to none; THE most outstanding tire shop and the only one I ever will use. Just took my truck this last winter to another tire store for new tires that Discount Tire did not have and for TPMS replacements. The latter had problems; took my vehicle back to that store two more times, still was not fixed. Cut my losses, took it to Discount Tire, got fixed, period. One visit.

What I have learned and one of the first things I do to have my EVs tires serviced (Teslas and R1S) is to buy the jack pads/pucks for each. And I prep the vehicles before taking them in for service (remove hub caps, plastic nut covers, etc.), and I myself drive the vehicles into the service bay. I would pop out the R1S jack covers ahead of time.
DIscount Tire does have the right tools and accessories for the job at hand, but it is still more than happy to use mine and always let me do my thing.
Own no stock or have a vested interest in Discount Tire. Just my experience over many years of using them.

That is crazy. I had heard called America‘s tire in a few states but didn’t know the reason. Interesting to see which one had name first.

America's(Discount) is phenomenal. They unfortunately scratched one of my new Atomic Wheels. Owned it and quickly covered it and have the new one arriving today. Props to Atomic for honoring discounted price as well.

My experience with America's Tire has been poor, on the other hand I have had great experiences with Big Brand Tire & Service...it just goes to show that you need to do the research and check in your particular area what the best options are...
