I was hoping there might be some reports in this thread from people getting their trucks soon... I see we're just arguing about covid instead. Fun.

I wonder how long it takes Rivian to deliver these cars from the time of informing someone of production. Ie.. "Hey, we have a car coming off the line that fits your build.. do you want it?"

It must be at least 2-3 weeks. So we're likely already looking at mid-February as best case for the Jan/Feb window folks, unless they've chosen not to inform us of impending deliveries for some reason.

Definitely not a strong start to the year.

I know someone who took delivery last Monday. Non-employee, LE R1T with off-road package, LG on black interior. He's not a member here and has no interesting in becoming one or dealing with online forums (I invited him).

Deliveries are real and happening... Slowly...

I have a feeling that's when I'll get my max pack.

I'd guess a lot less than that.

Thought I'd pop back in and see if the overall tone had changed since deliveries had started.

Maybe I'll check back later this year - or maybe not.

Carry on....

How much notice do you think Rivian should give? Two to three weeks seems reasonable to lock in configuration (as some on here seem to change very often), sort out trade in and all the other stuff as well as delivery logistics (especially when they start allowing factory deliveries).

Oh, I agree 2 to 3 weeks is fair. but that's different than what I interpreted TaycanFrank to he saying.

From rolling off the line to letting us know could be much quicker. I don't see a great reason that the trucks need to sit in Normal for two weeks before telling a customer their truck has been made. They could probably roll it off the line, ship it, and do another inspection at the service center in that much time.

It's been discussed before, but there also isn't much of a reason for them to tie "locking in a configuration " to building a truck. Or even shipping one. They can send them unassigned to a service center and then go down the list if Blue R1T LE trucks and find a person for the truck. I'm not saying that's what they are, or should be doing, but the logistics would still workout for now.

It's not only a amount of time but there are LE reservation holders who have spring 22 delivery windows who have never been given an opportunity to see the truck in person.

Totally agree. That's a bigger customer management problem in my mind. They really should find a way to fix that.
