First, congratulations!

Totally up to you. Minor fit/finish issues just mention to your delivery guide and submit ticket. Bigger issues you might consider either rescheduling delivery (after they fix it) or rejecting and asking to be matched with another VIN.

I’m not aware of any way to easily check the 12v at delivery. Most vehicles go through a pretty comprehensive pre delivery inspection but any that have problems you will likely see that online. What you don’t see is all the successful deliveries and happy owners ?
Thanks for the list! I was told by my guide that if I didn’t accept delivery at delivery day I forfeit my deposit ($3000) but they would release funds back to my bank and somehow give me my down payment back. They require payment from my bank and my down payment 2 business days in advance.

Hoping you still see this but if not maybe others can clarify the following for me.

- How does one check that “glass roof is properly aligned”? Is it obvious from inside or standing on the door frame looking on the roof?
- How do you check for proper windshield installation?
- What should i look out for on “Inspect edges of glass on roof and liftgate”. Do they sometimes have sharp/rough edges?
- Toggle thru all drive height and suspension levels. Was I being BS’ed? When I did took my family back to see how my son fit (no test drive) the employee told me drive modes and suspension height could not be changed without driving the vehicle around first. So, the implication was neither could be changed from park.

- 3rd row vents only being circulation is news to me and disappointing to read
- On the camera distortion check, during my test drive a few weeks ago the blind spot cameras that pop up with blinkers on the driver screen were very disorienting since it had a fisheye lens look. Is that normal and expected or a problem you are referring to?

For the lighting,
- How do you turn on internal footwell lighting?
- How do you check front/rear light bars?
- How do you turn on puddle lights? Are these the door approach lights? I have only ever seen these in photos but not in person in my test drives but I’ve always seen vehicles in blazing sunlight besides the showroom Dune that didn’t have them on.

Thank you! That is not good and I am sad to hear that you were told that. Did you check with the delivery coordinator to verify. This shouldn't be the case. If Rivian provides a vehicle that is not in acceptable condition, you should be able to reject it and either be assigned VIN or ask them to fix the issues before you take delivery. You should only lose your deposit if you decide to go through with the purchase of a Rivian at all. Perhaps the guide was confused?

Look at the roof and make sure the gaps beween body, trim, and glass are all fairly close. Also make sure the glass is sitting fairly flat and not sloped too much in one direction. You might need a stool to stand on depending on your height and the ride height mode the truck is set at.
- How do you check for proper windshield installation?
Similar to the glass roof
- What should i look out for on “Inspect edges of glass on roof and liftgate”. Do they sometimes have sharp/rough edges?
You would think the center of the glass is the weakest point...at least many do...not so....the weakest spot on the glass is near the edges. Make sure the edges aren't damaged as that could develop into a larger crack as could misalignment mentioned earlier.

Not true. You do need to have the vehicle in a ready state so you will need key card and step on the brake pedal. You should be able to cycle through the ride heights while in park.

recent models do provide cooling just not heating. There was a big post here about that. Now UI will actually show cooling when they are cooling. They sadly do not provide heating however.
- On the camera distortion check, during my test drive a few weeks ago the blind spot cameras that pop up with blinkers on the driver screen were very disorienting since it had a fisheye lens look. Is that normal and expected or a problem you are referring to?
That is normal on Gen1. If your buying a Gen2 (2025+) it should not have that much fish eye. Gen 2 uses a different camera location as well which works better as a blind spot camera. What your looking for here is the main display and cycling through the cameras there...making sure all the camera views look like they are supposed to.

Turn the headlights from Auto to the On position. You can activate different lights in the settings screen as well under "lighting". The puddle lights are the rivian logo that shows up under the side mirros on both sides of the vehicle when the vehicle wakes up and you are about to enter and they also show up as you leave the vehicle and walk away.

I responded in bold inline.

Thank you, I picked up on Saturday and it was I’ll say a less than an ideal experience. There were paint defects from the factory and warped undercarriage plastic that was “within spec”. Then there were paperwork mistakes on their end that all in all made a 30 minute pickup over 4 hours. As someone who was going into this hoping for the best I ended up pretty disappointed in the whole process.
