Thank you! This was extremely helpful. After 4-hous at my delivery appointment, I left the car with Rivian to fix issues before I accepted delivery. Audio system was not working at all. I could accept delivery, but then I’d wait weeks for a service appointment. Or, they’ll work on it right away. Easy decision.

We took a copy of @240vPlug's checklist with us, but because of purchase drama I wound up taking final delivery by myself at 6 am, needing to drive with my sweetheart 700 miles before bedtime.

We were buying a Demo anyway, used 2613 miles mostly for Demo Drives. We figured -- correctly so far! -- that any issues would have been found and fixed during that process.

Glad that checklist exists, @240vPlug. Thank you! It will help and comfort others.

Only was temp registration as we could not find it at first...it was stuck the the back of the manual in the center console..great list

Thanks for the checklist, it's very thorough and helped me alot. I suggest a couple minor additions:
2 - Inside
* Check all four windows... add check auto-up and auto-down as opposed to or in addition to holding the button
* you have front seat function, should also check 2nd and 3rd row (R1S) functioning up & down, manual and powered (2nd row R1S), including split/middle fold-down
* add: check all seat belts for proper fastening and unfastening, ensure they lock when jerked
3 - Interior
* USB add 2x 3rd row armrests (R1S)

This was super helpful! Help me catch a couple items for Rivian to address

had a cracked in my roof glass and some paint defects on the gear tunnel and interior hinges.

didn’t see this in the checklist, but one of my gear tunnel doors was missing ppf.

Scheduled for pickup tomorrow and definitely taking this list with me, but they seem to only allot a half hour for the process. Is that enough time to get through whatever needs to be done as well as this checklist? If not, what would you prioritize for the pickup?

I would talk to them about arriving early so that you have enough time to inspect the vehicle. If they have it prepped 30 minutes sooner that gives you an extra 30m to go through it.

What do you all do when you find an issue at delivery? Refuse to take / take the car until the items are fixed? Just open a ticket and bring it in when later (for me, in the San Francisco, that could be months.)

And 2nd question, I have been reading about the 12V and other issues. Anything I can check for wrt to that at delivery?

First, congratulations!

Totally up to you. Minor fit/finish issues just mention to your delivery guide and submit ticket. Bigger issues you might consider either rescheduling delivery (after they fix it) or rejecting and asking to be matched with another VIN.

I’m not aware of any way to easily check the 12v at delivery. Most vehicles go through a pretty comprehensive pre delivery inspection but any that have problems you will likely see that online. What you don’t see is all the successful deliveries and happy owners 😃

Did you pay for it and leave it? Or did you delay the actual transfer until all items were fixed?

Based on my personal experience with the 12V and all the investigation, testing, and nerding I'm doing about it. You won't know it until it fails.

There are potential "sings" that you can pay attention to, but that's like weeks after you take delivery and lots of data monitoring.
