Greetings group. I created a comprehensive delivery checklist for Rivian R1S & R1T deliveries. I welcome all feedback good/bad to help make this the most comprehensive list available to the community.

I created this list to help new Rivian owners avoid disappointment or a bad ownership experience. My thought is that this is accomplished by allowing them to go through the vehicle completely on delivery day and either reject it or accept delivery knowing exactly what is needed to be addressed by service. It will also help the new owner communicate promptly to have any service issues present at delivery addressed promptly.

Did I leave anything out? Any errors? Let me know.

Thank you! We have our R1S being delivered in 2-3 weeks. We will def use your list to make sure we identify any defects before the delivery person leaves (OKC SC does not accept pick ups yet). While the delivery person/team may get annoyed as we go through every line item, this will potentially save everyone some heartache later.
Thanks again

Looks pretty good! I didn't use a list until I got home, but things you might add:
  • Make sure all the seat controls work properly.
  • Check the camp speaker is functional.

I guess I got lucky... I did zero thing on the list. Maybe the only thing I did was to walk around to see if there were any dents.

Picking up a demo R1T soon, and we'll have limited time at the Service Center on delivery day.

Not sure I'll do everything on this list right away, but I'll certainly start with the things that might spoil a road trip. Thanks, Ken!

One quibble: The R1S part you're calling the "lower liftgate." Rivian employees have called it the "tailgate" in their conversations with me. Not sure which terminology would have the most meaning to new Rivian owners.

Thanks again, and best wishes!

Perhaps add a section for test drive.

1. Turn off HVAC and radio. Find a smooth section of roadway and make several runs from a stop to at least 60 MPH. Listen for any whining noise from motor and/or inverter. Noise may vary at different speeds and when accelerating or decelerating. Consider not taking delivery if noise is objectionable because it is extremely difficult to address the problem after delivery.

2. If possible drive at 70+ MPH and listen for any excessive whistling and/or wind noise.

3. Drive over a rough section of road or on a dirt road and listen for rattles.

There have been checklists floating about since 2021 - hopefully you incorporated those learnings.

Only one thing to add. You kinda covered it, but need to specify that all doors open and close from both the outside and inside. There was a short rash of rear doors not opening from the inside, and it was not the child safety locks.

How would you define excessive? Picked up my R1T yesterday and drove home on the highway. Lots of wind noise, even with music playing at mid-level. Is that normal? Seals around the front doors were fine so windshield or roof?

I would say that sounds excessive. Check the video I did on installing foam rubber seal in the triangle window. Also check window calibration.

Need to check for the presence of all removable accessories.

All R1s should have:
* Camp Speaker
* Flashlight
* Mobile Charger
* First Aid Kit
* Air hose, should include adapters, and tire goo kit
* Car seat latch guides
* Front license plate holder if required

Optional items that may be included:
* Spare tire and jack
* Cargo Crossbars
* Any other gear ordered and agreed to be delivered with the vehicle, document anything missing

Also, should do a test drive, check for alignment and weird noises

Great list!

One other item comes to mind - our bluetooth speaker was stuck (still is) and can' t be removed. Sounded like that happened to a few others as well. Might be worth adding to your list!
