I'm surprised that pricing didn't go up by more given all the mess and confusion with up and down tariffs.

This is most likely adjustments for dealing with tariffs and other cost-of-goods changes. Overall, it's not terrible considering the unpredictability of the market/economy.

Almost every car company increases their prices on almost every model almost every year. Especially considering all the nonsense going on right now with the tariffs, this is a pretty reasonable increase.

Don't worry they won't and many of the early buyers like me won't bother upgrading for a few years. It's just not worth the upgrade given the huge cost and incremental updates which mostly benefits Rivian. They need R2 and will have to sell a ton of them to all the people who crow about wanting a "cheap" EV. Sure my Gen1 cameras are a joke as is the ADAS but I'm not giving up a Quad for a Dual, insanity!

I think that one has to look at the price increase from a new buyer perspective. Since many of us already have a Rivian (or two or three), it doesn't affect us much.

Personally, I think it's a mistake to increase the price when the incentives are going away and sales are down already. As an example, Ford increased their volume and captured new buyers by offering "employee prices". Gimic, yes, but increases cashflow and removes carrying costs.

Price increase wise, $1k by itself is not bad if the sales were good. I found it interesting that Ford dropped the Bronco Raptor price by $10K but increased the lower end by $1K. It demonstrates just how much cushion they have on Raptor and not so on the base models.

Rivian probably could have done something similar for the Trimotor and dual max by dropping the price for both (say ~$5k) and raise the lower models more (~$1K on Dual large). Also I still say Rivian needs to introduce stripped down "Pro" model based on the standard R1T with a single motor around $60K for 2026.

I am surprised Rivian did not bump it more in order to stimulate demand for teh '25 models and then offer "discounts" in Q4 to stimulate demand for the '26 year end inventory. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When I was looking for another EV at the end of last year, not many Rivians qualified for the $7500 Fed credit anyways. Most Teslas did. I believe it has to do with how much of the vehicle is US sourced.

I have to add that other than the annoying wind noise that the Rivian service hasn't been able to fix after 3 visits, I consider my R1T one of the best vehicles I have ever owned in terms of comfort, utility, quality of material, ... but you all know that anyways :clap:

As for pricing, just compare to your higher end ICE trucks.

Currently, all leases get it. But with the new Republican law coming into effect soon, no leases or purchases will (all but certain)
