Soflo already did it and has been throwing custom made subframe cradles on R1s for years now. You cant say say "Its not coming and not happening" when its already been done. I would bet any amount of money that Soflo will have a lifted R2 out in no time... and not with a puck lift...
I personally drive less than 50 miles per day. 200 mi range and charging twice a week is plenty for me. I don’t want to pay for a 120kwhr battery tha gives 400mi of range that I never use.
No it absolutely won’t protect you. New improvements and features will largely be hardware limited. So you’ll never get the newest updates/features unless you buy the newest model.
You will get dinged on trade in value if you put cheap aftermarket wheels. BUT thankfully the OEM 21s are pretty universally hated and very cheap. You can swap out a cheap set of 21s and not impact your trade in value.
EV Sportline is the single most popular option for best balance of quality and an affordable price.
DCE, Megawatt, and Goat are easily the best quality… if you’re willing to splurge.
Realwheels EV make the only all stainless steel option.
All are pretty great options. EV Base are pure garbage...
I’m just honestly glad to see legacy automakers finally producing EVs that people actually want to buy. The US is so far behind China with EV innovation, with most automakers producing shit EVs just to hit emission mandates. Looks like some are finally taking it seriously.
Seems dumb to select a EV with poor efficiency, poor charging curve and speed limiter for a cannonball run. Seems like Lucid Gravity would be a much better option for vehicle to attempt the run.
As a parent with 2 kids in car seats and a dog. The R1S works but isnt ideal. You cannot access 3rd row with 2 car seats installed. I generally keep the 3rd row flat and just have our pup jump into the trunk.
We also had a Model X that we just got rid of and can say captains chairs are...
Doesn't really matter how limited it is. As long as there is a paint code, it can be matched. Even crazy rare color shifting paint like Ford Mystichrome can be matched with a talented body shop.
