Looking at the drive shaft and as it passes through the firewall, I hope this is not the final design. It looks unfinished, I would not expect to see that in the autos Rivian claims to be benchmarking.
Doubt that's the drive shaft. Doesn't look nearly robust enough. More likely, given it's placement, is that it's the steering linkage.

Still can't see why a shield couldn't have been thrown over it though.

That’s the steering colum shaft. It’s visible on range rovers and porsches even. ?

That’s the steering shaft. Lots of cars look just like that. Keep in mind the camera is basically on the floor looking up. A normal person isn’t going to see that in daily use.

Was multitasking when writing, yes meant to say steering column. Would be quite an adventure indeed if the drive shaft entered the occupant space! Now I have to go look at this area in my cars.

Hey @Iwantatesla have you thought about contacting Tom Moloughney from insideEVs to see if he can review your truck. I think he lives in NJ. Maybe he could do that 70mph test ?.

Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but what range do you get driving 75-80mph? On which tires?
Thank you.

I'm interested to find out how effective "conserve" mode is when used on a highway trip. Does it improve range much? Thanks in advance!

Hopefully I'm asking this right... At what state of charge? ie: 250 miles on a 70% charged battery.

I charge to 90% and drive all purpose. Range would probably be higher if i drove on conserve
