I believe Lucicd's less expensive SUV model that will sit below the soon-to-be-released Gravity will be named Earth.
The starting price will be around $50,000 when it becomes available in 2026.
The unborn R2 will be met with competition.

Doesn't look like a true SUV.

True, but that doesn’t mean it cannot be successful especially if it is as efficient as Lucids have been demonstrated to be.

Coming much sooner than I imagined given the Gravity is not until late 24/early 25

Seems more like a Tesla Model Y competitor, I’m sure they will be cross shopped with the R2 but to me a different category than R2.

Agree, different markets but hope they make it. The efficiency of the Air has me thinking I'll pick up a 25 model cheap in 2 years. Also waiting to ensure they make it.

Lucid is going bankrupt. Can't see them making it despite the Saudi money.
Yeah, I think Lucid is not building the brand loyalty and love you see with Rivian. And Rawlinson is an opinionated porcupine. I think there are no real buyers for Lucid but a number of natural buyers for Rivian. Magna could pickup the parts business.

Think of it as an electric Subaru.
With no ground clearance?

Yes, there are absolutely no specifications on this yet other than an obscured rendering and an aspirational price. It's not close to being delivered. In fact Car and Driver is calling it a "2028" model.

Contrast to the R2, where Rivian is showing actual working cars around the country. It is MUCH closer to production. And with the R2 we know what we're going to get plus or minus.

Regardless, if Earth turns out to be a tall sedan, then it absolutely won't fit my needs at all. I don't simply need transportation, which any car can provide - I need capability, which is in short supply even in the SUV space.

Really? People around here rave about their Lucids. The price is too high for a lot of folks, but they have a real hard following for the true luxury market.

As you said, no specs. So it seems to me that the profile suggests a sedan-ish thing, and if it's meant to be off road capable, would need to have some ground clearance. Like a Subaru.

LUCID's electric motor is small enough to place in a duffle bag and carry around whereas the competition is more concerned with battery weight and size.

I am just basing my comment on the fact that Rivian is #1 in most loved vehicles (Consumer reports) and customer satisfaction (JD Power APEAL). On the CR customer satisfaction rating the R1T is running significantly ahead of the Air (especially on value where owners rate the Air a horrible 33 out of 100) and the 2022 grand touring low mileage is in the low to mid-60k range vs current retail in the 120-130k where as a similar R1T / R1S is retaining about 70% of its value vs current retail (+/- given changes in configuration). But I could be off base. Lucid should show up in more surveys next year.
