While in service to replace my Power Tonneau Cover, I mentioned some issues pairing my camp speaker. While providing me with an update, the service manager mentioned they ordered a replacement camp speaker for me. The old speaker does not pair, but still makes a good camping lantern. Do I get to keep old parts replaced under warranty?

Almost no business allows. They don't need oh / repaired parts in the market.

Interested to see what you find out.

Completely up to them. Even in places where they are legally required to give you replaced parts, there are caveats for warranty replacements.

I assume they send it back to their vendor who credits them upon receipt of the damaged unit. Meaning....I am thinking they need it back to get compensated back.

Depends upon your state laws. e.g. MD requires original parts to be returned to customer. See the following for details: https://law.justia.com/codes/maryland/2010/commercial-law/title-14/subtitle-10/14-1004/

You don't own a part replaced under warranty - they traded you a new or refurbed part for it. Depending on the value, nature of the failure and the serviceability, they may fix it and put it into their warranty repair parts inventory.

As an example, they might replace the circuit board in your speaker and put in their warranty parts inventory.

Did you read what you posted? It clearly says:

(b) Exception.- Subsection (a) of this section does not apply to replaced parts which are required to be returned to the manufacturer or distributor under a warranty agreement.
Yes. Only those which "ARE REQUIRED* to be returned to the manufacturer; e.g. 12V battery cores. I would find it hard to believe that a p.o.s. camp speaker would be required to be returned.

Parts replaced under warranty, no. Parts you pay for, yes.

All parts can be refurbished and used on other warranty repairs. Or scrapped for some value. Warranty is to replace parts. Out of warranty, you buy new parts so can keep the old ones if you want.

They let me keep my frunk lid plastic liner. But I can't imagine them letting you keep a camp speaker...
