I am in an argument with a few of my co-workers about who buys certain vehicles, like the Rivian R1/Tesla Model X, and what their respective owners make.

I am just looking for the poll to be answered, as I dont want your personal information.

A poll provides the anonymity needed.

Specifically, you refers to your household income. You, or you and your significant other/partner/etc.

It would seem difficult to be buying vehicles like this if you were not topping out those poll numbers.

You work? How quaint. Most of us Rivian owners are independently wealthy and can afford to sit around all day sipping our Chateau Luzern. How do you think we got to be so rich?

I get annoyed by people making assumptions about my income based on what I drive. Because, you know, you're always wrong.

WARNING - A poll provides absolutely 0 anonymity. Everyone can see exactly who voted for what.

Edit - this is fixed now. You can no longer see who voted for what.

Yes, you fixed it now. Previously clicking on the row exposed the list of people who voted for each option.

You should probably add a couple notches to that poll. Or if your really wanted to know you could pull up the thread where the new tax credits were announced last year and see how many pages of people bitching about no longer qualifying at 350K.

Thats the main thing I am trying to avoid. I dont even qualify for the tax credit, and am no where near the 350k.

You must not be married filing jointly then. If you are it's 350K.

Lets just say... I WISH! I dont want to influence the vote, and the general idea of the poll. So when I close it, i may reveal my income. I am hoping to get around 50 (or more) votes before that happens

hmm,... the poll doesn't make sense to me. The brackets seem arbitrary in relation to ownership of this vehicle. I am generally curious about the outcome of such a poll even though I try to constantly remind myself not to look at my neighbors garden.

They arent meant to seem that way.. They are actually the income brackets for the people that work at my company, from the owner down to the lowly fetch boy (parts runner).

I agree. It's the number one hesitation I had before I purchased this vehicle and it's been confirmed since I got it. People make a lot of assumptions about this truck.
The truth is, my income varies a lot from year to year. This year was the best ever. I've also been socking away money for this truck for a LONG time.
I want to have a T-shirt made that says "...actually, when you factor in tax credits, my early pricing and the write off for my business, I would've paid the same amount for a less equipped F150."

Thats actually what I have been telling my Co-Workers. Yes I could have bought something else, even a ICE, but why, when all is said and done, I would be paying the same, and in some cases, more..

I also admit that the pre-price lock in helped in that regard a LOT!
If my math is right, purchase price, taxes, plates, registration, state credits, federal credits (if any), and be into it for, with federal credits $75575, or without federal credits $79325.

Mind you, I am coming from a 2004 GMC Envoy that has 375k miles on it. So all of it will be a big upgrade. Although I will miss the heated seats in my Envoy. The Rivians heated seat doesnt even come close!

My boss is a Subaru Fanatic, and has been trying to convince me to buy a Subaru CrossTrek Limited like he has. Yes it would be cheaper, and the Subaru AWD system is quite capable.. But its also only 200hp, 5 seats, and to low to the ground.

The owner of the company is trying to convince me to buy a Tesla Model Y Performance. Its a great car, as I have test drove one. But again, its 5 seats, and to low to the ground. He also gets to write off 100% of the vehicle, as he purchased it for the company.
