  1. Quality Control Survey

How many miles were you at with the QM when the exchange happened? Did you have multiple problems or just one? I have the dreaded tock with my 6XXX VIN, but I've been hoping that they could fix eventually fix it, By now I've put so many miles on it (25k+), and so long from the buy date that I...
  2. Unpredictable Accelerator

In my experience the pedal feel has been subpar compared to my previous Tesla. The deadzone was too much, and even my SO asked me why it wasn't moving when she tried to drive it. She did get used to it. The biggest issue is regen is completely unreliable. For example I was at about a 70% state...
  3. Rivian Service turned off gear guard and left it off

I'm fully onboard with a service mode where they're free to mess with whatever setting, but I want all the settings back to where I had them when I pick it up.
  4. Not allowed to speak with management? Say what?!!

I did have this customer service campaign performed on my Rivian, and it failed to fix it. What's funny is the SC center said everything was in spec before and after that campaign.
  5. Not allowed to speak with management? Say what?!!

I'm not disputing the fact that if you have a problem with a Rivian vehicle that it's not very easy to escalate issues. Even if the guide responds they're basically powerless to do anything. Like I have a tock noise used to only happen on starts and stops of moderate acceleration, but now...
  6. Rivian Solar Charging

Wouldn't it make more sense to crowd fund a Solar Charging Station in Baja?
  7. Not allowed to speak with management? Say what?!!

Gotta be careful when requesting to speak to management. In some companies the management is AI The post itself felt a bit bait and switch. Speaking to someone higher up for failed deliveries seems reasonable. Speaking to someone higher up for a small discount for a charger seems...
  8. Deer on I-80...Not Visible in DriveCam

I find it best to drive in reverse so the Cargo facing camera can record good footage. :P The R1S doesn't have this though.
  9. Worried about buying a Rivian if the company fails

This is exactly why I don't recommend buying an early VIN. Now I can't say exactly what VIN numbers to avoid, but certainly anything in the 6XXX range that my VIN is. As I understand it the actual fix was a chassis change. The only solution I really have to my problem is to simply put tons of...
  10. Worried about buying a Rivian if the company fails

From the various posts I've read I've seen mixed reviews of early VINs where the later VINs seem to be a lot better. I also have to stand my ground until Rivian makes me whole by fixing the dreaded tock. I have another Service appointment scheduled for a different Service Center so hopefully...
  11. Worried about buying a Rivian if the company fails

I'm for you buying a Rivian despite the possibility of the company failing. I think some Chinese company will scoop them up if they do. The Chinese want access to the North American market, and that would be a way of doing it. It's exactly what they did with Volvo. I'm opposed to you buying a...
  12. Does ride height make mileage / range difference?

I've experimented with it a fair amount, and I'm only seeing a negligible difference. When I say experimented I really mean I've gotten to lower the ride height. I don't typically use conserve because it changes the way the car handles in the wet, and everyone knows the PNW is perpetually wet.
  13. 🔔 Keyword Alerts -- Your New Automated Site Search Tool

I'm going to have to go with TOCK :P
  14. My 2019 Tesla MX chargers faster

Wrong unit of measurement for comparison. kW is needed for comparison purposes, and you'll want to make sure the battery percentage/temp is roughly the same for comparison purposes. I think you'll find that they are nearly identical when comparing kW.
  15. Rivian R2 communication desert?

I don't really expect any communication on a low cost reservation made years from a release. Sure periodical updates is important to capture new reservations. But, at the same time they have to make sure they don't take away from current sales. Maybe a schedule update once every 6 months.
  16. Honest kids…..

This is actually one of many reasons I'm glad I don't have kids. They're leaky. Whatever you say to them will eventually come out. This example is harmless because its just a Cybertruck owner. They're immune, and they're too busy trying to find their pinky to really take notice. But, what if...
  17. Tesla Driver calls Cop on Rivian Driver

Personally I think I'd be able to handle the situation with no cops being called. To start with I'd have the correct adapter. Secondly I'd just show him the App which specifically says "Charging a non-Tesla" There is obviously going to be people that interpret that sign as Tesla charging...
  18. My R1S rear ended a delivery truck - results

I think we're talking about two things. Where what differentiates between the two is time. That there is time to get over, but you need to hurry it up a bit. Where its not really even in the grey area. I'm definitely opposed to last second dash for the exit kind of thing.
  19. My R1S rear ended a delivery truck - results

I was referring to the situation the OP was talking about. Where there is time to get over, but you need to hurry it up. Like the last minute before an exit. Definitely not the last 15 seconds or so. That's just dangerous and I wish drivers wouldn't do that. So I do agree with your post even if...
  20. Rivian testing new Driver+ (Autonomy Experience Module) -- stops by the FCC

I have my bet on humans getting worse. In fact I'd probably invest money in it if there was a straight forwards way of doing so. So much worse that it will erase any gains made in cars being smarter. Personally I think drivers should be selected by insurance companies and not the other way...
