Community - this should be a quick one. I’m looking to do some light off-roading, more specifically, just some beach driving.
I was wondering whether I can just slap some AT4Ws or KO3s on my 22” rims or whether I actually need to change both the rims and tires to get down to 18” or alike for...
Used EV prices are insane right now. Of course Vinfast sucks. But how about a $150k vehicle going for $60k right now with under 5k miles? Just look at the fairly new BMW i7 xDrive60 and i7 M70. Those are the real steal.
I would imagine the definition of what “sport” constitutes is subjective. For Porsche, it’s lap
Times. For Bugatti, it’s top speed. For others, might be something else.
my guess is that Rivian assumes that drivers wanting to go sporty subjectively want most power early on below 40mph for those...
For comparison, this damage here was 5990 USD repair cost. Yours is very similar in that the same parts need to be replaced. The biggest difference I see is the parking sensors. Based on that, I think it’s going to be more in the 8000-11000 range.
Hmm… one thing you have to keep in mind is that the East Coast EV infra, specifically New England, is very different from the West Coast. It’s really not as easy here as it is there. Want to go to upstate NY or Vermont for the weekend? It’s a bit more difficult than going from SF to LA. So yeah...
Also my third jeep. Two were Lemons and got bought back lol. It didn’t stop me from buying another one. Because I wanted it. The reliability concerns also didn’t stop me from buying a Rivian and wouldn’t have stopped me from keeping it had it not been for the insane wait.
Nobody is stopping you. This is the internet. You can tell your dogmas as loud as you like and may always find someone like you who picks you up on it.
Ha! It's probably more related to english being my second language than trying to sound smart. I pondered whether I should post though - it does come off as defensive. And maybe I am being a bit defensive? As in feeling bad I'm leaving Rivian after a short and intense time? There are things I...
I agree, similar numbers, but, lands apart in terms of performance (as in: The Rivian drives way more agile). The Wagoneer is a big, heavy, American-built SUV (my window sticker says 79% sourced in the US - i was very, very surprised at that). It drives like that. But I drive slow, and relaxed...
How would you phrase "I enjoyed the power and speed but found it mostly useless for my purposes"... maybe that helps. My reasoning is very subjective to my own wants and perceptions. Of course it will seem off to someone with a different mindset. That is why i tried to make clear i'm being...
Never felt like that... I always perceived them as different tools for different jobs. I guess that's an EV maturity thing that is going to change soon, when the EV is the better tool for every job.
Stellantis and Tavares are a disaster. What they've done to the Jeep, Dodge and Ram brand is nothing short of criminal. Whether you're into EVs or not, as an American citizen, it is sad to see. On the bright side, i still think Jeep is a killer brand. And like Rivian, if you're lucky and get a...
Well, one could say this was a short but very intense stint. Certainly it was a much appreciated and enjoyable one packed with lots of learnings about EVs.
After having my R1T Dual Performance Max Pack for a year (and as some know fully converted it for Overlanding purposes), the small itch in...
Small update. I’ve put about 2000 miles on them so far. My efficiency @ 60 psi cold is about 2.11 as compared to previously 2.3. This is not using Rivian’s EPA estimates as a baseline.
Anyway… it basically comes down to this: You are going to lose range. To some, this will be significant, to...
