The recent suspension update pushed the R1T to an area of "softer than I'd like" for most situations. Now I'm using Firm more often to better control the truck. I wish we had a "Mid" setting that was a bit more composed, like the "old Soft".
I typically keep ride height fixed at Standard, but Low provides a less floaty feeling.

The new stiff is still very compliant and doesn't have the same body roll that soft does. IMO it's a good compromise but I still wish they gave more than two options. Infinitely adjustable suspension but only choose white or black.

I’ve never owned a vehicle with air suspension. I come from a Model 3, which has regular shocks so the ride is pretty stiff. I’ve owned the R1S for 2 months now and I can’t get a feel for the right suspension setting. When I drive slower around town, soft feels a little too soft, especially over bigger bumps (speed bumps and such), so I am trying stiff suspension around town now to see if that is better. When I am on highway or straight roads, the soft feels great. I am not sure if it’s just me not being used to the suspension coming from the stiffer rides all of my life. Curious to see what others have as their daily all purpose setting.
soft/stiff is subjective. i think youre doing the right thing trying out different settings until you find the combo that feels best for you.

I wish they would add a mid category that is "legacy soft." I was almost always in soft prior to the update, which I found to have far too much roll at high speed and about half of my commute is on the interstate so I now keep it in stiff.

I emailed Rivian about this suspension discussion. I encourage you to send them your feedback on "new soft" so we can encourage them to release a Middle setting!!!

What I really want is adjustment settings like the EQ settings on the sound system with the ability to adjust individual factors like roll and dampening with a sliding scale. The way the system is designed allows for a lot of customization, which they are obviously tuning with the driving dynamics. I'd love for them to unlock that and allow for those that want to make adjustments to do so.

I usually have it in all-purpose and soft ride feel. They just released moderate ride feel. Curious anyone like moderate over soft?

I do use moderate; I like it better than soft nor firm.

What’s everyone now doing? Soft or moderate
After running on soft, I notice the ride was cushy but it bounces everywhere. After Rivian release moderate, that was my setting. It made it less bouncy and it was still bouncy. I recently changed to firm and will see how that goes. Firm is much stiffer than moderate but I think it doesn’t bounce as much as moderate?

I have used the middle setting for a while. Soft was default but I found it too soft after a while.

99% of the time, I am in All-Purpose, Stqndard, Soft, High.

The remaining 1% of the time is if I am on the interstate for more than 10 miles, than I will set it to Conserve, Low or Auto, Soft, High.

I leave mine at All purpose, Auto, soft and high re-gen. No point in figuring it out, let system figure it out. I have better things to do, like browsing the forums.

I just got the 19.04. I drive it in all purpose, soft, low regen and medium height. It seam to porpoise less. I tried it in sport, in high sport and soft. It was drivable. The old sport mode was undrivable. I was fine with the old medium regen in AP but now the low regen works better for me. In my older years I drive much more mellow and chill out up to a light or stop sign.

It is a definite improvement.

Would you change your answer after the latest update? I switched from moderate to soft, and it is great.
