    Rivian replaced the heater module due to a short. Told me that bad heater module in any EV will shut off the vehicle and prevent it from driving. Happens in all EVs. Nothing we can do to prevent it but this doesnā€™t happen often. At least it wasnā€™t the HV battery.

    @Riv E In I had some issue with my 2024 R1S dying after less than a week after delivery. Not sure what the issue is but itā€™s at the service center. 2023 R1S never had battery issues. I wonder how often the 400v battery is bad and if this id happening more to 2024 models? Donā€™t they test...

    Dropped by Rivian. They are still running diagnostics. Service doesnā€™t think itā€™s the 12v. They did mention 2024 changed the 12v. Itā€™s one larger vs two smaller ones in the 2023. Anyone know what size they are?

    There first warning said somehting about Thermal failure. That is what caused the AC fans to blow hard. Then Rivian service had me do a hard reset and the other warning signs came up.

    Update. I called Rivian service and it took 7 hours to get towing company out. It should NEVER take 7 hours.

    I told them about the loud wind noise even with the windows rolled up. They said that is how EVs are built because there is no engine noise to drown it out.

    I concur on the Cayenne being a fantastic vehicle. I like my R1S for different reasons. But Porsche makes solid vehicles.

  16. Less than stellar delivery experience at Costa Mesa

    Just wanted to give an update that Rivian did the right thing. I finally took delivery of a new R1S. I sent RJ a thank you and he (or his admin) responded. Glad Rivian did the right thing for us.

  17. Trading 2023 R1S in for a 2024 R1S

    Just received my 2024 R1S quad. I came from a 2023 R1S quad. Personally, I donā€™t notice anything majorly different other than the key fob being colored. The wind noise is still prevalent with all the windows up. Drive feels the same. Doors are heavier.

    @Dave Cundiff does yours do it on all four doors? I am being picky but it doesnā€™t apply to one of my door. Even when it is the last door and the air pressure. I will have to deal with it.

  19. 7500 mile service worth doing?

    Costa Mesa service center told me it should be $60 to rotate the tires at the 7,500 mile checkup. You know you can rotate tires for free at Americaā€™s Tires. They do charge $20/tire to balance them though. I donā€™t think you need to re-balance when you rotate.

    Hi owners, I picked up 2024 R1S. Never had issue with this on previous 2023 R1S. My delivery guide told me when all 3 doors are closed, the 4th door takes an extra hard push to fully close it. They arenā€™t sure why it does this but maybe some safety mechanism. I donā€™t understand it myself...
