This is the second time I have received this message. It locks me out of the app. It has happened while I am out of town. If I verify, then the phone will not work as a key. I can not remotely check on my truck through my main phone. I do have a second phone I travel with and was able to log in. I can not unlock the truck remotely to let someone in it. I have never had this problem with my Tesla app
The app was updated March 7th to 2.7.2
the truck is running 2024.07.02. It was running on the previous software when it happened last.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I've had this happen exactly once, ever.

And it was about a week ago :)

No problems whatsoever, though--I just signed in and it was working just fine.

My wife’s app is functioning normally. It happened Feb 2nd and March 21st. February, I was in Dallas, and now, I am out of country. The app might not like the IP address my signal is coming from.
I will creat a trouble ticket for it and see what RJ’s crew an do to fix it.

If they have implemented their SSO in a modern way, it will be looking for what it considers anomalous user behavior.

Basically, it may have decided you’re a hacker (more to the point - that your device and/or credentials have been compromised in some way) and is trying to protect your truck (and you). :)

Definitely put in a ticket. Sometimes the back-end engines that identify a threat, it’s nearly impossible for it to un-learn that behavior without manual intervention.

Of course, this could all be BS on my part because I have zero inside knowledge how they deploy their identity management and auth systems.

I think there is a time limit on the login so if it exceeds that it will ask you to login again. I usually restart my app as I have location services only working when it is powered on, if I want to walk around in the garage I shut the app down so it does not keep unlocking the vehicle.

The only time I saw this message was when the app had been up and logged in for a few weeks, I just logged in again and things worked fine.

Are you using ElectraFi or another tracking app with your personal Rivian account? If so, that could explain it...need to create a new Rivian account associated with your vehicle (no keys) to drive the data aggregation so it can't interfere with your primary account.

I had this happen yesterday for the first time. I do use electrafi but it is assigned to a dummy account, not one of the driver accounts.
