Even that would be good, because with the proper support you could still stick them 12' 2x4's and pipes out the back.
If the interior trim is taller than what we see outside, then the 2x4s wouldn't rest directly on the glass.

My plan as well. I do love my Model 3....but Im growing tired of Tesla's "jelly bean" design for all their vehicles. Looking forward to "Rivian Only" household.
Nice! Wonder if there will be an exodus to Rivian becasue of all the pricing issue and design.

The key feature I'm looking for: massive sales to raise my Rivian stock value from deep blood red, to a mere flamingo pink.
Seriously, I'm looking forward to the release. We're coming up on 100,000 miles on our Model 3. The R2 is a definite contender for a replacement.
How reliable has your Model 3 been in those 100,000 miles. I just hit 41,000 miles on my 2021 SR+ and it has been rock-solid reliable. Not a single issue so far (other than the sh!tty automatic windshield wipers).

No R2S so maybe no R2T in the foreseeable future
R2T has never made a ton of sense to me, especially with R1T sales already tapering. I think downmarket versions of the R1T are a better means to the same end, versus a whole new product.

Booked myself into the local Rivian Reveal Party today. That should be fun chatting up everybody about electric vehicles.

As of right now, my plan is to order the R2 at the party. Based on comments from Rivian, the teasers, and leaked specs, I see the R2 as being my best bet to get an electric vehicle that works for me.

That cyclops light can’t meet regulations, can it? Seems way too small.
It’s not the third brake light since the other brake lights aren’t on at the moment. So most likely the whole top bar will illuminate when the brakes come on.

Maybe an electric version of the mavericks and Santa Cruz could sway some big city folk.

At 100k mls, it's barely being broken in

we bought Mach E last December and R1s in 2022 December. We thought wait for R2 but its 3 more years (worst case ) so took MACH-E
This is Rivian, 3 more years is definitely not the worst case

Looking like we getting a digital rear view camera and no wiper. Lookin clean!
The deep spoiler is a good clue that there is no wiper--that's one of the ways to keep snow off the rear glass, just like in the R1T.

BTW, how do you know it will have a digital rear view camera?

I am just suspecting since there doesn’t appear to be a wiper that there would be a backup way (no pun intended) to see out. The Fisker Ocean went without a wiper and that’s how they worked around it.

I'm interested in the bike rack attachment point that requires no tools. Wonder if we can get that installed in our R1 hitch area for the same accessories.
