Watch the video again. At 2:30, it seems pretty clear that the seats are mounted to a separate structure that is attached to the sides of the body by the door sills.

For sure. the pack adds structure and rigidity, the point of the pack being deflected downward in certain cases, was to protect the packs structure from being overwhelmed and cells being ruptured, but also to deflect some of that energy downward.

Great video! In the drive train section I wish they would show the original motor as well as the newer generation R2 to compare and contrast.. I'm curious is the battery pack liquid cooled? Is thermal management air or water? Just curious if anyone knows...

Understood. I was responding to the post that insinuated that the seats would also be directed down and out of the vehicle in the event of a crash. It actually looks like that post has been deleted.
