Guide call went well, signed the PBA. Guidance is 4-8 weeks but expectation is much s00ner than that. Adam (Guide) was great to talk to and I'm expecting an email anytime with word that a truck is coming down the line for me. Added bonus, flying to Australia tomorrow for 2 weeks so an R1T waiting for me when I get back would be nice.

Checked my account today and noticed I have a VehicleID. Signed the PBA about 2 weeks ago. Does having a VehicleID mean I should expect to see the 8 steps soon? Or does it really not mean much? Worth reaching out to my guide for (haven’t heard anything since signing the PBA)?

The best guess is that having a vehicleId means you’ve been selected for production. I’m 2 weeks from signing the PBA today, had the vehicleId for most of that, and no movement on the vehicle yet.

I’d say it basically means the same thing as locking in your config, as far as how quick it’ll be.

My guide just keeps telling me “s00n”, she says she has no insight until it’s a lot closer.

Just checked my account. I have a vehicleID number as well. I was also curious what it means. Thank you for clarifying.

Where do you see the vehicle ID number assigned?

Ive had the same experience. I did a bunch of digging into vehicleIDs when I found I had one a week ago and it doesn’t seem to mean anything as far as timing. Some people have no ID after PBA and get a VIN out of nowhere and others have vehicleIDs and don’t get anything. I haven’t seen any pattern or correlation to timing that makes sense.

Hmm, you have a vehicleID for a week but no VIN still?

Yep. I even reached out to my guide this week to check in and she had no news.

I have one theory that a vehicleID could be an assigned future production slot and other people who have gotten VINs without them are just been paired with trucks that randomly become available. It seems like luck. Again that’s a total guess, but it makes sense to me.

Yeah that's what I just mentioned in another post, I'm thinking there is a queue of assignment(logically makes sense to prep materials), and I assume you have ViD till that point and once it's done you get a vin, or as you said if you get assigned one(someone gets reallocated or backs out) then it'll happen faster. Has your guide mentioned you're in prod or just you found ViD?

I found the ID myself. Nothing from guide. The only timeframe I got from her was in my initial call saying I was on track for oct-dec window but in her experience it’s probably more like 2-6 weeks out once you have a guide.

Gotcha, yeah I assume once she says 'in production' then you will be like a week out, yours will be a good test case.

Got it, I will keep an ear out for that! Is it common that a guide will tell you when you are in production or do you have to check in?

Mine told me but I guess it depends on the person, I'm sure they'll be excited to tell you when!
