Ding ding ding. Competing with Chinese EV manufacturers isn't a competition between two auto manufacturers. It's a competition between an auto manufacturer and the government behind the second largest economy in the world. It's not a fair comparison. The CCP is willing to do whatever it takes to muscle out the competition to create a global hegemon, even if it means losing money on every car they make for decades.The entire world has a difficult time competing with Chinese manufacturing. Not because it is vastly superior to the rest of the world but because the lack of worker rights, environmental regulations, and the Chinese government manipulating their currency compared to the rest of the world making it impossible to compete on a cost basis.
