I am following this thread for sure. Can't wait to see what you figure out. I plan on keeping my Gen 1 for as long as it runs. Great work so far!

Just from the water logged camera to this one, it's a marked improvement. Every time I put it in reverse, I cream a little. I can see again!I would expect it to need drivers for new version at minimum. But if it works, even at lower res, it should be an improvement because of better sensor quality.
They're not the same, take a look at the lens of that and the mirror camera. They are more flat. Now I'm curious if the cameras in the cameras in the fender arches are the same? They aren't used by anything in the Gen 1, so they could be a "scavengable part" if you need a new front/rear/mirror camera if they're the same.
Those fender cams have never been used...They're not the same, take a look at the lens of that and the mirror camera. They are more flat.
Also, the fender cam isn't the one that looks backwards in reverse? What the hell are the side cameras, a split of the mirror camera? How am I just now figuring this out?!

We'll know more 22-24Apr when the cam arrives! If it's the same, I plan on pulling my sideview mirror (easiest plug to access) to test it.I'm pretty sure these are all just standard coaxial camera connectors. Not these exact ones but the same style.

You got $140? It'll get you 2 weeks:I'm hoping Rivian eventually releases a service manual similar to what Tesla has done. I've set-up a user account with their portal and looked at a number of items for my out-of-warranty Model 3. A few things I've done myself, others I've been able to realize it was out of my wheelhouse and was willing to pay to have the Service Centre do the fix!
I, for one, really appreciate you taking one for the team to reverse engineer this! It's here! It's here!
But my dumb ass started an update as I was unpacking it, so can't pull off the sideview mirror and test yet.
These are so different, I think it would be difficult (not impossible) to retrofit a bracket. Might even need to bore out lens holes to fit.
