Update: Finally got a phone call from someone (manager of the title department). This was about 10 minutes after I followed up with RJ and crew, but note that I also used the shotgun approach and squawked to anyone I could, so who knows what was the trigger. They are overnighting me the package for early AM tomorrow, and then I get the joy of walking it into the tax and title office. They are refunding me the taxes paid (already got a revised agreement), and I just followed up to highlight the additional $500 in penalties that are now due. One thing that got me - the manager said that he understands it is "my preference to register the vehicle myself." I said "Whoa - it is not my preference, just to be clear. But it's the only option I have. I'd much rather you did it."

Fingers crossed this works and this annoying saga is over.

This does not make me excited. I'm right down the road in Dekalb.

On a different note, I recently completed a similar saga with my property taxes not being paid by my mortgage company (i have an escrow). Only took 6 months from when they were due to complete! Took ~30-40 hrs of my life, ~50 phone calls, and physically going down to the property tax office and paying them myself. Most Mortgage companies use a completely unaccountable middle man called CoreLogic to pay property taxes, and they royally screwed the pooch on mine. Refused to talk directly to me, and kept denying there was a problem. So I truly look forward to dealing with Rivian/ RegUSA /Dekalb County.

My saga finally ended yesterday. My guide still hasn’t returned any of my calls or requests from other support reps to call me. Fortunately, one of the service techs who fixed my leaking shock in Houston was able to help me get my proof of vehicle inspection which was the last piece of documentation I needed to self-register. I burned another couple hours waiting in line at local DMV but walked out with my plates and registration.

Strangely, I was more excited yesterday than I was on the day of delivery. It’s nice to finally have a fully functional R1T that I can legally drive.

I'm in WA as well and going on 10 days with expired plates. They were supposed to overnight something 8 days ago, but no package and no tracking number and a guide that stopped responding. Amazing how fast goodwill burns when you can't drive the thing you were so excited to get. It's sad to say, but I don't think I'll ever forget this. Yes it's an amazing truck and hopefully, I have a nice long life with it, but this will always cloud those first few months of ownership.

Yes it's an amazing truck and hopefully, I have a nice long life with it, but this will always cloud those first few months of ownership.

Have you checked the DOL or LicenseExpress sites to see if a plate # has been assigned. I found mine there well before any contact from Rivian and was able to get a new temporary paper from a local DOL based on that. Ironically, I then got plates in the mail a few days later.

I don't see it in License Express and when I search for the VIN it says "unable to verify information". When I was in the DOL last week, they said they had no record of the VIN entering the system.

Keep checking...I had the same experience; one day it will be there. Based on what happened to me, that may be a week or so before getting something from Rivian. I started getting forthcoming delivery notices like the following from FedEx:

Hi, your package from General Systems Solutions is now out for delivery today.​
	Indirect Signature Required​

Having never ordered anything from anyone with that name, I looked them up and found this:

Whether the glitches/delays are from them, from Rivian, or from the handoff, I agree that it is unfortunate. I also love my truck and this experience will fade pretty quickly...

It's only a hundred bucks and some change for registration expired under 60 days. Just drive it. Odds are low.

Just got my plates as well. Had to email RJ to get things moving but then it was smooth. Just shy of 4mo. Still waiting on refund.

I got my plates right after the truck went for service in Cleveland. Although I was told PennDOT had the paperwork and would be issuing the plate, the FedEx envelope came from RegUSA. It still is not permanent and is good through the end of September. No title yet either. 3/22 was my date of sale.

Rivian doesn't know how to handle plate transfers in Oregon. Here, you don't pay registration fee if the tags are still good, but Rivian's system still has the registration fee added on.

Just came from the DMV. Got plates in less than 15 min. I must have called/texted RegUSA/Rivian four times that long over the past 3 months.

No word on the sales tax refund.

The fun continues, but at least I legally own my truck now.
