  3. [Updated w/ Video] RJ Scaringe discusses R2 & Rivian in Forbes article (2/20/24)

“Right now he’s eager to show off a high-powered new computing system for future Rivians and the latest refinements to their automated highway driving tech.” This was the most interesting part of the article to me. Are current Rivians not equipped to handle the updates they have planned?
  4. First 1800 Miles Towing Airstream with R1T

good stuff. Thanks! Yeah I've never towed with my R1T. But my brother in law has a ram 2500 and they camp a lot. He was asking me during Christmas about the towing range. So it's cool to see a couple of threads this morning where people are discussing just that.
  5. First 1800 Miles Towing Airstream with R1T

Looks like an incredible trip. Random question: How many miles would your ram 2500 have went on a full tank pulling this same Airstream?
  6. Problems problems, all these damn problems! Let's hear from those who've had little / no issues! 🗯️

I'm on my second R1T. The first one had 22,000 miles on it when it got totaled in a wreck. The only issue I ever had with the first one was the control arm recall issue that happened very early on. They came to my house and tried to fix it, then loaded it up and took to the atl service center...
  7. Can RJ and exec team do a better job with managing RIVN share price?

Not really. Tesla has been the most shorted stock in the S&P 500 for the last couple of years. Now Exxon is. Would anybody say that Exxon's future is very uncertain?
  8. Can RJ and exec team do a better job with managing RIVN share price?

The stock is heavily shorted. This is typical wall street activity for a company in its early years as a public company. Invest or don't invest. Or swing trade it. But if you're an investor, don't expect the share price to make any sense in either direction for the next couple of years. It's all...
  9. Conspiracy to sink Rivian? Wall Street Journal article

Exactly. And this was their plan from the beginning. the R1 is a flagship platform that was designed to be really awesome and get the name out there and to draw interest. It was intentionally over-engineered. The WSJ writer seems to think the losses were unexpected or that things aren't going...
  10. Conspiracy to sink Rivian? Wall Street Journal article

It was definitely a hit piece. The writer misleads the reader into the view that the losses were unplanned or unexpected.
  11. Meridian vs in-house sound system quality

I don't have the S but I am on my second R1T. First was very low vin, second is 24k vin. The in house one is far far better than meridian imo. But I like my music to have a punch. Which really was all the meridian was lacking imo. If you search around you can find some good equalizer settings...
  12. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Each of these are great ideas! Also really ready to get streaming services. And ready to see the overall Driver+ suite make the next leap forward.
  13. Not liking one pedal driving

Make sure you have your settings on REGULAR not HIGH for the regen breaking. It makes a big difference.
  14. Rivian R1T tailgate pad installed review: it's a winner (with a caveat)

So I finally got a chance to use mine today and it took me a while to figure out how to make the straps work where the bike doesn’t fall over. I took a few pics but the video that rivian posted when they announced these shows you where to put the straps. It’s higher up than you would think.
  15. Highway Assist Scare on my R1S Today

This is correct. I always think of Driver+ as the feature that only works on express ways. But godfodder is right, technically D+ is part of the overall suite of features.
  16. Rivian Quality - Two Genuine Questions

I'm on my second rivian. First one got totaled when we got creamed by a drunk driver. That, for me, was what makes me a life-long customer going forward. The way the vehicle held up and we walked away was simply amazing. And if there was nothing else that I liked about the truck, that alone was...
  17. Highway Assist Scare on my R1S Today

LKA works on all roads with lines. It is a feature that is on most newer vehicles. It nudges you back, when you drift onto the lines. D+ only works on roads that do NOT have stop signs/ traffic lights. Around Atlanta it's Interstate 85, 20, 75, 285 and GA-400 that I know of where D+ works...
  18. Highway Assist Scare on my R1S Today

I'm about 25,000 miles in. My experience has D+ is great. I have all the LKA features on all the time, even on local roads. But D+ on freeways is so much better than anything else I've ever driven. It's not perfect and you are always supposed to stay alert. But on drives from Atlanta to Florida...
  19. Rivian R1T tailgate pad installed review: it's a winner (with a caveat)

Folks asked yesterday if it was possible. So I was just showing it is possible. I agree, I won't be keeping both on there at the same time.
  20. Rivian R1T tailgate pad installed review: it's a winner (with a caveat)

To those that asked about the bike pad with tonneau cover. (I have the interrobang one. So can’t confirm about the rivian made one.)
