“Right now he’s eager to show off a high-powered new computing system for future Rivians and the latest refinements to their automated highway driving tech.”
This was the most interesting part of the article to me. Are current Rivians not equipped to handle the updates they have planned?
good stuff. Thanks! Yeah I've never towed with my R1T. But my brother in law has a ram 2500 and they camp a lot. He was asking me during Christmas about the towing range. So it's cool to see a couple of threads this morning where people are discussing just that.
I'm on my second R1T. The first one had 22,000 miles on it when it got totaled in a wreck. The only issue I ever had with the first one was the control arm recall issue that happened very early on. They came to my house and tried to fix it, then loaded it up and took to the atl service center...
Not really. Tesla has been the most shorted stock in the S&P 500 for the last couple of years. Now Exxon is. Would anybody say that Exxon's future is very uncertain?
The stock is heavily shorted. This is typical wall street activity for a company in its early years as a public company. Invest or don't invest. Or swing trade it. But if you're an investor, don't expect the share price to make any sense in either direction for the next couple of years. It's all...
Exactly. And this was their plan from the beginning. the R1 is a flagship platform that was designed to be really awesome and get the name out there and to draw interest. It was intentionally over-engineered.
The WSJ writer seems to think the losses were unexpected or that things aren't going...
I don't have the S but I am on my second R1T. First was very low vin, second is 24k vin. The in house one is far far better than meridian imo. But I like my music to have a punch. Which really was all the meridian was lacking imo.
If you search around you can find some good equalizer settings...
So I finally got a chance to use mine today and it took me a while to figure out how to make the straps work where the bike doesn’t fall over. I took a few pics but the video that rivian posted when they announced these shows you where to put the straps. It’s higher up than you would think.
This is correct. I always think of Driver+ as the feature that only works on express ways. But godfodder is right, technically D+ is part of the overall suite of features.
I'm on my second rivian. First one got totaled when we got creamed by a drunk driver. That, for me, was what makes me a life-long customer going forward. The way the vehicle held up and we walked away was simply amazing. And if there was nothing else that I liked about the truck, that alone was...
LKA works on all roads with lines. It is a feature that is on most newer vehicles. It nudges you back, when you drift onto the lines.
D+ only works on roads that do NOT have stop signs/ traffic lights. Around Atlanta it's Interstate 85, 20, 75, 285 and GA-400 that I know of where D+ works...
I'm about 25,000 miles in. My experience has D+ is great. I have all the LKA features on all the time, even on local roads. But D+ on freeways is so much better than anything else I've ever driven. It's not perfect and you are always supposed to stay alert. But on drives from Atlanta to Florida...
