Was this before or after the 2026.03 update was installed on your truck?
I am curious what the 12V failure situation looks like after the changes in the recent update:
Improved the ability for the vehicle to power on when the 12 V battery voltage is low.
Improved control of the 12 V battery...
No, we are the older child that no longer requires the coddling support of the parent. The younger brothers need this attention now;).
Honestly, I've gotten more than I paid for at this point. Gen 1 is 4 years old and, well past the point that I expected any significant improvements being...
I installed a couple of these in my Audi once upon a time. .
They were a better addition than I realized at first and, I used them all the time. I am not sure what the mounting provisions look like above that tunnel liner for mounting but, perhaps something similar could work for what you are...
Seems like a miss of great R2 pre-launch marketing opportunities. Even if they are penny-pinching with the current market conditions. With others backing off the EV pace and, the R2 being the make-or-break vehicle for Rivian, they ought to be getting it hyped up NOW. Unless the launch has really...
If you get a chance, even a finished product picture of the battery installed would go a long way for members of this group. Some seem to be too familiar with the digital/electronic realm vs. the mechanical ways of the world ;)
Interesting, thanks for posting . Looks like a solid potential for aftermarket replacements. I am curious how the quality is on these and, how they hold up.
Likely because it was not delayed to a date per say but, rather remained in the original roll-out plan and was delayed in sequence until the preceding wave's issues were fixed.
That and, maybe to push impatient non C+ subscribers to splurge for a subscription :p
It would be interesting to know what the actual temperatures at the vehicle were during that time. That can have a substantial impact on the amount of drain. Once the pack reaches ≈14°F, the battery energy is used to heat the battery and keep it from being damaged. That action would have quite...
The fender well "button" is a capacitive sensor. It could have ice/debris frozen over it or, maybe you are attempting to touch it with a glove on?
Once it opens, can you close it with the outside button?
No, not a thing you should be doing differently. Probably not a fluke as it is a known design /process issue The truck completely manages the charging of the 12V battery, not you.
Disabling gear guard and prox unlock can help preserve battery levels but, won't cause or prevent your 12V...
Yes however, not mysteriously ;) . The dash vents are normally closed if heating in auto. If you open them up, once the vehicle goes through a sleep cycle it will automatically close them.
Have you tried talking to someone in person and showing them the LV initialization procedure you would like performed? Perhaps that should be the service request to simplify to them what you are asking for.
From the info provided, it does not sound like you have a 12V system failure as stated...
This vent configuration is the same as last year, and, like most other vehicles using an auto HVAC setting. Keeps the windshield heated/clear and, provides cabin heat through the foot wells. Nothing has changed this in my 3 years of R1T ownership.
