Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
I added a brief description of the colors. They really have to be seen in person and under different lighting conditions. Enjoy!

I’m torn between newcomer Catalina Cove and classic Forest Green.

I already have Borealis R1S so I'll take Launch Green LE

Half Moon Grey seems a good bit lighter than El Cap. Would love to see a real-life picture of both side by side

Depends on options pricing. If too high, then Esker Silver. If reasonable, maybe something like Catalina Cove. Will still have to see them on a vehicle before I decided as I don't think the pictures are good enough.

I’m thinking they’ll definitely be cheaper than R1 paint options. The vehicle is smaller and there’s dark gray paint on the front and rear bumpers. This is meant to help with repairs.

Canyon Red would have been great for R2 sized vehicle. After seeing Borealis(its really a shiny eggplant color), that probably is the most interesting color, given the palate they are offering.

I agree. They need a warmer color. Not all neutrals and greens. It was hinted by Jeff Hammoud that Rivian would offer limited edition colors of the R2 in the future. Makes sense since they did that with the R1 line. Question is how many years after the R1 released did they offer limited edition colors?

Right now I'm leaning Forest Green. But by the time to order... who knows? Catalina may still be a contender
I want to see both in person. I used to have a forest green car when I was younger. I loved that thing, but man was it hot in the Summer. You’d burn yourself on it trying to get in. I really need a garage.

I chose Catalina Cove. I did not like it at all on the R3 prototype but I think it was the orange wing mirrors that bugged me. Took awhile to get past that bias on the R2 but now I like that color

Unless paint options are priced reasonably, going back to silver…easiest color to take care of, hides fine scratches, etc. Catalina Cove would be next choice.

I too am torn between newcomer Catalina Cove, Forest Green or Esker Silver! Would love a Blue, yet concerned that the Cataline Cove might be too "Teal" at times. Safe fall back is Forest Green or Esker Silver. Currently have a dark gray car and don't want to repeat with Half Moon. Looking for some color in our home vehicle pallet. Although, Esker Silver might show better in salt latent climates. hmmm choices choices.

Launch Green would likely be my R2 choice. FG or Esker would be the only others I would consider.

Is it confirmed Catalina Cove is the color on the R3X prototype? It looks much more blue to me. When I saw the R3X it came across more teal and less metallic. Of course Red Canyon has always tended to photograph as dark red when it's normally much more orange. Which is the reason I picked it four years ago after finally seeing the color in person.

Check out some of the videos from SXSW - the colors got more sunlight, which for Borealis and Catalina Cove really highlight their color-shifting properties. (I still really, really like both colors)

The videos are good, but nothing can replace seeing them in person.

I'm in the camp of wishing they had options for Rivian Blue, Red Canyon or even El Cap Granite. And of course, Storm Blue! I might take any of these colors over the actual available options.
