  2. Rivian Space to open right above Massachusetts Turnpike

https://www.bizjournals.com/boston/news/2024/03/25/rivian-electric-vehicles-in-boston.html The electric vehicle retailer Rivian has found a location for its first Boston sales center, and it’s about as high a profile location for motorists as possible: right above the Massachusetts Turnpike...

  6. Ford quality problems

Axios: If Ford CEO Jim Farley could go back in time, he would have moved much quicker to fix the automaker's quality problems, he told investors yesterday. "I think we all have regrets and that's a big one for me," he said. "So it's a humbling thing. ... It needed a much more fundamental...
  7. Lightning has gone to Norway - should R1s?

I spent a week in Norway on vacation last August (put the fjords on your bucket list). The > 80% EV penetration was remarkable, but equally notable was the dominance of Chinese manufacturers. Tesla has a big share, but it seemed like every block in Oslo had a BYD, or Nio, or Voyah, or other...
  8. Has Rivian upgraded the MagSafe charger?

The StowNCharge seems easy to remove based on the video on their website. I don't see any reason why you couldn't put the original back. The rubber pad is just held in with 2-sided tape.
  9. One Month Review

Excellent review. I love my R1S, but share your frustration with a Linear branded opener not working. I'm not sure why Rivian didn't go with HomeLink.
  10. Has Rivian upgraded the MagSafe charger?

Another vote for the StowNCharge - it's worth the wait. I've tried another product, but switched due to the OEM look and convenient storage compartment.
  11. 2024.03 Software Update *BETA* (Quick Controls, Individual Passenger Window Locking, Ride Feel & Ride Height Improvements & More)

Isn’t this thread about the new update? Why not post other comments in the wish list thread? I would like to see a screenshot of the replacement for the vehicle screen. This sounds like a big improvement for quick access.
  12. It's not just you, garage door software is buggy

Same problem - 318 MHz Linear opener...very simple no rolling-code 9 binary dip switch. Puzzling why it works on every car I've owned in the last 10 years, but not the Rivian.
  13. Garage Remote Limitations

No luck - I also have a simple 318 mhz remote with a binary 9-dip switch code
  14. MA State Inspection Boston Area?

    Excellent- thanks BlueR1S
  15. MA State Inspection Boston Area?

Thanks for the recommendation. Do you know how they raised the vehicle - jack pucks, removed the panels, or just lifted it on the frame? My main concern is lifting the vehicle improperly and damaging the battery. I spoke to the service center and they said they are not applying for an...
  16. MA State Inspection Boston Area?

They definitely need to lift to check the front suspension with every subsequent inspection. Thanks for the recommendation, but that's a bit too far.
  17. MA State Inspection Boston Area?

Does anyone have a recommended place for an inspection, where they will use my jack pucks to raise the vehicle properly? I've owned the R1S for a year and I'm overdue. Boston area preferred. Thanks.
