Hey All!

Super excited for this one. Rivian gave me a sneak peek at the newest software update (OTA 2023.38.0) and the linked vid is the result. I wanted to do a general overview of what was in it. Hoping to get some towing tests on later.

The gist of it is that it's an excellent update (I can't confirm or deny the existence of Halloween mode). It's focused mainly on the drive modes. Well, it's almost entirely about the drive modes (only minor changes outside of that). The new drive modes are split into two groups: On-road and Off-road with the various modes in logical places. Towing is no longer a mode in itself, it's a tab for all modes (except Rally and Drift modes). I also learned that drive some drive modes don't exist in the dual-motor variants of the Rivians.

I do have a couple of things I would like to see in the next software updates (see end of vid) but mostly this is a good addition. Lots of new data surfaced to the driver including pitch, roll, temperatures, and access to the over-the-bed cam (HALELUJIAH!).

Anyway, check it out and please leave comments on the vid!

Hope this is helpful to you all.

Nice! Hope the trip meter is semi-logical and less buried, looks like that is so. Nice to see battery and motor temps, elevation, other.

I echo your sentiments, @Pixelshot. Would be nice to have all the data all the time. One could argue that off-road the trip meter could be even more important if you're looking for a particular distance to the next turn on a trail. Nice first attempt...hopefully that means we'll see it evolve to be better over time.

Some of that data should be made available to place in the left side driver information cluster. Rivian just needs to let users configure what data, and where they want to see that data displayed.

I can’t find the Halloween theme :(. It seems buried in comparison to last year.
