The R2 says "I sure hope you're wrong about that"....SUVs all around are the worst of both worlds; truck and car. Just get one or the other.
Not really, it says that it hopes that Americans are still under this delusion that SUVs are useful and necessary. The R2 says "I sure hope you're wrong about that"....![]()
Being in San Francisco at the time, that is actually a yes.Uphill both ways?
That has definitely not been on "every other pickup for the last 75 years". Integrated steps and hand holds are only something that has become common in the last 20 years. My mid '90s pickup definitely didn't have any steps or handholds. Also, getting in and out of the bed is absurdly difficult because there is neither a step, nor a hand hold to help with. You know, features that have been on every other pickup for the last 75yrs.
Yep, some people don't realize it doesn't need to be furniture or a 2x4. A bucket flying at you on bike could be a big problem depending on the rider and surrounding circumstance.A friend was killed on his motorcycle due to a loose load. I said the driver should be charged with manslaughter.
Stake pockets are handholds. And they are quite literally called "Step Bumpers". Shits been around longer than most of us arguing about here have been alive. That has definitely not been on "every other pickup for the last 75 years". Yes, fold-out step, even corner bumper steps, would be nice. But there are other new pickups without them. And a bumper step (my F-250 had one) is useless when the tailgate is down.) The Nissan Frontier (a similar-size pickup) has no step or handhold.
The F-150 Lightning Pro (base model) doesn't have the step or handhold. Only the higher trim came with that.
You know what else everyone has had for the last 75 years? A tape measure. You know, features that have been on every other pickup for the last 75yrs.
It’s actually the 2nd thing I show people, just after I flip them down to show them the gear tunnel:And BTW, there is a step into the bed. Two in fact. I use them all the time.
Or just climb up the tailgate, like I do. It can hold 1k lbs, after all. It’s actually the 2nd thing I show people, just after I flip them down to show them the gear tunnel:
“…and what’s really cool is you can stand on them…”
I do have to chime in that's the beauty of a truck that as long as you tie down properly you can drive with the tailgate down and the flap in the R1T allows up to about 7 feet of space. One of these helps as well. https://evsportline.com/products/ri...ajccK34aBlF1_dqRqgpcKHWll_dpt0pDWqZusEoVmx_ToHere's another great example of a pickup truck designed by software engineers.
Trying to move a washer/dryer tonight. They don't fit. The tailgate won't shut, not because the bed isn't long enough, but because it has an over complicated hinge system that requires an additional flap to cover the opening. It also has permanent storage for a tonneau cover that I don't have taking space at the front.
Also, getting in and out of the bed is absurdly difficult because there is neither a step, nor a hand hold to help with. You know, features that have been on every other pickup for the last 75yrs.
The more I try to use this truck as a tool, the more I'm convinced it's just a very expensive toy.

Also, to whomever was bitching at me about not securing my load at the beginning of this thread, I hope you're happy now. Have 8 effing straps on these two things. Wouldn't have used so many if I could've closed the stupid effing tailgate!!!
