Oh forgot to add. I ordered a sofa over the summer and they wanted like $250 to deliver it. I'm sometimes cheap depending on my mood, so I decided to risk it with the R1T since the distribution center was only like 8 miles from me.

It came fully assembled, in a huge box. With the tailgate down, it went in fine. It hung beyond just a bit...but i used safety straps to secure it..side hooks worked perfectly. Saved me $250. I know its not a super practical truck, so I was pleased it still worked for stuff like this.

You can geofence this to disable while you're home. I had the same complaint and had to turn mine off at home. Still works as normal while away from home.
Yea, the problem I have now is that I have two "homes". The rental where we are currently sleeping, and the new house we just bought. Once I move to sleeping at the new house, then I'll change the "home" location, program the remote, etc.

Wish we could GeoFence multiple areas to turn off proximity lock/unlock. Ultimately a short term problem really.

Although I will take the opportunity to mention a standard fob/touch separation of "permission to change lock state" and "commanded lock state change" would be great for these kinds of instances. I fight similar issues at the boat ramp to be quite honest.

I had the rear "soft close" strut on my tailgate fail a few weeks ago. In the process, the 14yr old pushed the button and the tailgate slammed down on a chair that was nearby we were about to move.

Painteless dent repair guy came out and didn't want to mess with it. He told me those top plastic pieces are "one time use" items. As in, he would have to break it to get it to come off, and a new one would have to be sourced. Surely, that isn't the case.....is it?
The day after I got my PTC replaced to v2 in December, the strut failed too. Replaced it at the Service Center last month for $374, which was paid by my extended warranty. The tailgate cap was replaced last October for $273.68. Have your PDR guy go ahead and pop that cap off and eat the cost of the replacement cap when you get the strut replaced under warranty repair.

To temporarily solve the problem of proximity open/close at the second location....put it in car wash mode and turn off climate controls.

Thanks for the tips. Appreciate it!

Sorry for your frustrations. Did you ever consider renting/using a trailer? Your rant (your word, not mine) didn't mention use of one, so thought I'd ask. Nevertheless, glad you all made it to your new home safely.

One improvement to user experience for moving or road trips is to simply turn proximity sensing off.

I'll do this anytime I'm in a situation where I'm frequently walking near the truck but I don't want the truck to always be locking & unlocking.

I'll also sometimes turn the hvac off manually to prevent it from turning on everytime I open a door.

Don't have a bandsaw, but the circular saw made it just fine :D :D
It's a joke. I saw it in passing on some social media. Someone has a bandsaw in the back of a Cybertruck and it smashed through part of the roof because it was improperly secured. 😆

ROFL, nice.

I thought you were referring to some of the other comments earlier in the thread about my sarcastic comment about using the camera to watch something fly out of the bed, and the insanely aggressive response I got from that.

Fun times!

I tried that last night actually.

Totally borked the PaaK setup. Had to unpair/repair the BT, then re-setup the key. Truck also went to sleep during that time, so might be that. Hard to tell exactly what the culprit was to be honest. Regardless, one of the 75 stars that were aligned for PaaK to work fell out of place and I had to spend 15min reconfiguring it to work right.

To answer the original question:
-Best vehicle to move with: 16' U-Haul box truck rental

- Worst vehicle: 1985 Yugo

Slightly more serious answer takes me down memory lane. I did a number of partial DIY military moves. The absolute best vehicle I ever used was a 1993 Plymouth minivan towing a trailer. With the the rear two rows of seats removed (the commercial movers packed those) the inside of the Plymouth was cavernous.
But, of course, the rest of the time it was still a Plymouth minivan.

I once moved an 8ft tall Ikea dresser across the Bay Bridge with my Miata. In the rain.
