I have the dual-zone 58L Everfrost 2, and it’s a total game changer. If you’re thinking about picking one up, I highly recommend grabbing the extra battery too -- it makes a difference.

I took it on a 12 day road trip from Hilton Head to Key West with stops in Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami, Palm Beach, and St. Augustine. It was the perfect companion the entire way.

I had it in the bed of my Sierra EV, plugged into one of the truck bed outlets. It recharged while I drove, then automatically switched to battery when we parked. I literally never had to think about it -- it just ran on autopilot. I kept one zone at 0°F for ice cream and popsicles, and the other at 30°F for drinks and food. Even under an aluminum tonneau cover in late spring/early summer heat, the batteries lasted a solid couple of days. Probably not the full four days they advertise with two batteries, but still super impressive.

The Bluetooth app is solid too. I could monitor and control everything from the driver’s seat while the cooler was sitting in the truck bed.

What I love most is how hands-off the whole thing is. It recharges while driving, switches to battery when parked -- no RedArc system, no switches, no babysitting. It just works.

Outside of road trips and camping, it’s great for BBQs or kids’ soccer pizza parties. You can roll it right up to the picnic tables and let it run all day. The wheels are way more useful than I expected. Sure, it’s not as attractive as the Dometic CFX5, but it’s way more practical.

If it’s not obvious already, I love this cooler. Even my wife really likes it… and let’s just say she’s usually not impressed with my recreational purchases.

I bought the smaller single zone version of the Everfrost 2 (40L) to replace my Yeti. Our sole usage is to bring groceries (frozen meat, fish, dumplings, etc.) from Dallas back (5-hour drive). We are pleasantly surprised how spacious the cooler is and not having to stuff half the cooler with ice is truly a game changer. I didn’t get extra battery. The one battery is more than sufficient to cover the time when we stop by for a meal.

They even have an app so you can see real-time temperature, battery status, and adjust settings. The app connects over Bluetooth so there’s little drain on the battery.

The only downside I can think of is the weight. It’s significantly heavier than traditional cooler.

Thanks - I hadn't seen that Anker makes a dual-zone, but for my use case (like yours) a freezer section is required. I also have a wife who is also usually unimpressed with my acquisitions related to the Rivian. You have my sympathy.

I decided to go with the ICECO APL35, now available in black. I have a Gen2 R1T with the (new) version 2 powered tonneau cover and with the Thunderbolt Adventure Supply bed slider. The APL35 (with no extra insulated cover!) just barely fits under the tonneau cover sitting on the slider. So close in fact that it rubs slightly against the rubber seal on the rear of the tonneau cover when being slid in or out. The Dual Zone lets me keep ice separate which is big for me. For camping I will be running the fridge off a Jackery 1000 V2, which will in turn be backed up by the R1T 120 outlet.

I just got one and am going to use it on a road trip. When you charged while driving did you plug into an AC or DC plug? I’m not sure which is more efficient in the Rivian. Do they both pull from the same battery?

I charge my cooler from the AC outlets in my Sierra EV truck bed. It draws from the truck’s high-voltage battery pack.

You’re gonna love it!

Kind of done with Anker after they keep trying to kill my family (USB-C charger came apart while plugged in exposing energized bare conductors as 9-year son was unplugging it) and burn my house down (different USB-C charger model started melting and bulging up, got extremely hot). And neither of those had a battery or was on the list of their actual massive recall.

Hold on, didn’t you say your car smelled like it was burning while driving? 😀
