What was your experience with a service center with running boards or rock sliders installed?

Any warranty issues or refusal to work on vehicle? I have running boards installed on my R1T and am planning to take it in for service for clicking sounds at low speeds. Trying to figure out if I should take them off before going for service.

Running boards are fine if they don’t block the pucks. Sliders, you might have a problem and be asked to remove them.

This. I actually had service center staff compliment me on mine. I am considering switching over to rock sliders but haven't decided which vendor to go with as yet.

The two key items are clearance and puck hole/area access. If either of those are obstructed service may have an issue lifting the vehicle.

About a year ago I asked local service manager if running boards would be an issue. He stated only if they needed to drop the traction battery which doesn’t happen very often.

Rivian mobile tech would not jack my R1T due to rock sliders and running board. Cited liability reasons... I could have paid him to remove them but then I would have to re-install them myself (I refused that option).

Mine has been there twice for suspension work with the EV Sportline sliders, and they didn't mention them being an issue.

Hi. Which SC is this? I have a leak in my R1S in the rear side. And Houston SC wanted the sliders to be removed before bringing it there :(

I have EV Base running boards on my R1S and had service done at the El Segundo SC which included a 4W alignment and they didn’t mention or have any issues with them.

We have an appt next month to have AC and panel gaps fixed. When the service advisor called today to discuss the issues, they noticed in the pics that we have running boards installed. They advised for us to remove them before dropping off the vehicle at the Costa Mesa location.

Oh boy. I've been to that service center four times for minor things and they never asked me to touch my running boards. I'm wondering if the AC issue requires it? I assumed everything would've been front axle forward for AC?

My R1T has been at the SC in NY since last Wednesday for suspension and driveshaft issues and they took it right in with my running boards without issue.

The advisor told me since it's the fender that needs to be worked on, they would probably require to lift it. He didn't say it was required but that they could decline to fix it.

How was your experience with the Costa Mesa service center? This will be our first SC visit. We're in the Central Valley area so this will be quite a drive for us, about 3 hrs. But El Segundo had no appointments at all and San Jose didn't have anything until Jan.
