those bolts were a bear to remove...even with a long breaker bar.
ended up stripping the last two bolts i need to remove on the driver's side.
even used pb blaster + heat...and it was still a gg.
i've been rolling around with just the passenger side running boards until i have time to extract the stripped ones. =[

I couldn’t get any leverage with a breaker bar since the tp55 bolt is so shallow. The bit wouldn’t stay in no matter what I did. It was still a bear with an impact

^^^ this right here. I would NOT even try to attemp with compact gun first until at least trying to loosening it with the breaker bar. Fortunately for me, the breaker bar did the trick, but it was PIA though.

The TP55 with correct 1/2” bit from Amazon didn’t give any issue. I used an Ridgid 1/2” impact driver.

Hansshow running boards needed modification to adjustable C Channels, it is short and does not cover the entire lengthI had to cut it to extend it.

Cutting plastic cover took some time.

I used 1/2” torque wrench to achieve the 80ft lbs torque. Bluce thread locker was used on all the bolts

thanks you guys for the meaningful advice

I also got the stripped T55 and not able to remove to install the running boards. Any suggestions to removed the stripped T55 screw?

Probably stripped because it's actually a TP55, and not a T55....

I recently installed the DCE rock sliders. The trick that worked for me with the TP55 bolts was pushing up on the wrench directly underneath the bolt with the base of my palm, while wedging the rest of my forearm underneath it until my elbow and upper arm are pushing up on the ground. I wedge it in tight enough that there is a great amount of force pushing the TP55 bit into the bolt, and then use my other arm to operate the wrench. This helped to stop the TP55 bit from continually "popping out" of the bolt when I applied a lot of force on the wrench, and in the end I think this helped prevent me from stripping the bolts. (DCE recommends torquing the TP55 bits to 95 ft-lbs, so I had to use even more force than what's stated in this thread.)

However this technique might be specific to the specific length of my forearm ;-). I'm 5'10"...

I can confirm regular T55 causes stripping.

Ordered the TP55 3/8 and will try again tomorrow.

I also got very confused in my brain about which way to turn :) so think twice.

I’d recommend 0.5” driver if you can. I found the 3/8 to be flimsy for the torque needed

1/2 is still in the mail (prime)
3/8 arrived today and I was getting anxious.

3/8 TP55 was the golden ticket. Still used a 1 foot lead pipe (ok ok steel pipe) as a breaker bar, but got those 6 out (and back in).

Finished the job in about an hour.

When I used T55 with impact, it slipped. However, T55 is fine with a breaker bar and a torque wrench.

You should not be using a t55 on a tp55 bolt.
