Sorry, but if one can't buy one single wheel and/or one single wheel and tire mounted, and it has to be installed at SC, I'll be dumbfounded and pissed. All I'm gonna want is one extra "real" AT 20" spare for R1S Adventuring off-road. I'll strap it down in the cargo area of the R1S. I certainly hope this isn't a requirement to buy four only and only have the SC install!

Yes, it seems you can't buy just one.

Contact your local SC and buy a spare.

Yes, it seems you can't buy just one.

I'd imagine once they have an actual "spare" option, versus buying all four, it won't require a service center installation for the R1S because the vehicle won't need to be reprogrammed (who knows if they'll offer ship to home though). The R1T may still require "installation" if they are required to update the weight sticker on the vehicle to account for the spare since the R1T has integrated storage for the full size spare.

I paid 200 in labor to have my 22's swapped at the SC for 20's and that included programing. 4100 if that includes install not too bad. Like someone else said get the free 21's and pay the 4100. Have 2 sets.

I might just do that. It's a $3500 upgrade for me to get the Black ATs...at this point I might as well take the 21s for free and for an additional $1600 ($5100 in gear shop) have two sets of wheels...8 new tires...etc...

Those 21inch tires themselves are probably worth $400 a pop.

I have 22s also and envision swapping to 20s for winter in Chicago (potholes and snow). I'll pay the premium for the xtra set, but $200 and a trip to the service center twice a year? If I have a capable jack and a wrench this should be able to be done by me or at least locally.

Tesla asks if you changed the wheels and allows you to select what you installed. There's no technical expertise in programming that.

I agree hopefully they roll out an option to program the truck over the air or via the main screen.

Set of four of the 21s currently goes for a hair under $1,700 on Tire Rack. So basically $500 per wheel. Seems reasonable for us 20” tire purchasers looking for summer road trip tires to switch to for added range and to extend the life of the 20” ATs.

Doesn’t mention it but if this is a complete wheel set does that mean it comes with TPMS? If so, makes it even better deal.

Appears no TPMS included? That part sucks. If you want them, have to dismount them anyway, so pointless if they're already mounted and balanced.

Price does seem reasonable though.

Surprised how small the difference in cost the 20 (or more) vs 21s. In the configurator it is $1800 to switch from the 21s at a minimum whereas here the difference is only $400. I would have expected a larger difference or it is a good profit center for them when people choose different wheels upon ordering.

Makes sense why they'd be willing to give them away to the launch edition orders. Encourage others to buy the upgrade with a big margin by seeing them all over the place.

Tried calling the Rivian support line to order a spare but there is no joy in Mudville today.
