    hmm ok I guess very annoying but it would literally just take less than 10 min to get a quote online with say geico, get the vehicle delivered, cancel the policy and jump back to whoever you are insuring with?

    I think it depends on your location (proximity to a service center). You could’ve drove one off just a few days ago from the factory. But in any case you could probably put in a new preorder for an R1T and reach out to customer service and ask for shop access.

    You can back out of binding contracts with penalty. My understanding is that the 100 dollar non-refundable fee is the penalty in this instance. think purchasing contract on a house. It’s binding but you can still back out in the contingency period.
