Hey there, Rivian enthusiasts!

Over the past year and a half, Atomic Wheels has become a popular choice for rims among Rivian owners like you with amazing electric vehicles. We’ll be honest: we couldn’t have done it without the support of the community (and yeah, we’re a bit proud of that).
We’ve always aimed to be open and transparent, offering the best bang for your buck (or at least we think so, and you seem to agree!). That’s why we’ve decided to kick off this new thread, where we’ll share all our news, updates, special offers, photos, and maybe a few fun stories from the world of wheels.

First off, can we just say how much we love the Rivian? It’s an incredible vehicle that’s pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with electric adventure. But let’s face it, they usually come with 21” wheels, and options for those are pretty limited and, well, kind of pricey. That’s why most of our designs are offered in a 20” diameter—giving you more choices that are easier on the wallet.

Our journey began with the AW10 (31 lbs), our first and best-selling model, available in several colors (yes, the one you saw on your neighbor’s ride and got a bit jealous).
Rivian R1T R1S Official Atomic Wheels thread for Rivian nj0sWGJHa4qRHwxUlOn1p?key=rGwEDae9WWeV5AtuGeyhh0Gt

We then added the AW09 (32 lbs), which gives your Rivian a sleek and stylish look. Its detailed five-spoke pattern with a strong ring adds a rugged touch, and it pairs perfectly with both off-road and road tires. Despite the intricate design, the forged construction makes the wheel lighter and much stronger than any Rivian OEM wheel—you’d probably damage your suspension or tires before harming this wheel!

We then noticed many of you were asking us to offer the AW01 (26 lbs), a design we originally created for Tesla. We decided to go for it, and as it turned out, this lightweight, square design not only perfectly complemented the Rivian’s styling but also helped reduce energy consumption to extend your range.

Later, we did the same with the AWZZ (26 lbs), an absolute bestseller among our Tesla and BMW customers. Its elegance and lightweight construction made it a natural fit for the Rivian community seeking both style and efficiency.
Rivian R1T R1S Official Atomic Wheels thread for Rivian fX5ujJnfbECwhGhgi033Q?key=rGwEDae9WWeV5AtuGeyhh0Gt

When we launched the AWX design, we introduced it for all cars right away. For the Rivian, with its load requirements, the AWX (24.5 lbs) turned out to be the lightest among all our wheels—more spokes, less weight!
Rivian R1T R1S Official Atomic Wheels thread for Rivian vN20C-XKexi_60u1qGE4g?key=rGwEDae9WWeV5AtuGeyhh0Gt

We also added the AWX1 (28.5 lbs) for those who love multi-spoke wheels, offering another stylish and lightweight option.

Understanding that some of you needed an uncompromising solution for off-roading, we created the AW08 (37.4 lbs). It’s not our lightest wheel, but it’s built with increased load capacity and valve protection, making it the perfect companion for your rugged adventures.

Our other designs include:
AWZ2 (30 lbs): For those who love being the center of attention, this wheel helps you stand out from the crowd.

AWR1 (31 lbs): Featuring a unique blade design and color contrasts, it’s perfect for those seeking something truly distinctive (don’t worry, no actual cutting involved).

Almost all of our designs are available in 3-5 different colors, so you can choose the perfect match for your Rivian’s style.

To see all our designs (there are a couple more we haven’t mentioned here), feel free to visit our website!

All these designs are primarily offered in 20” diameter, but we know some of you like to roll in style. So, select designs are also available in 22” sizes for those who prefer larger wheels for that extra flair and road presence.

Quality is our top priority. All our wheels are forged from 6061-T6 alloy with the highest precision. We didn’t skimp on craftsmanship or materials—because you and your Rivian deserve the best. It’s been a joy reading your reviews about the quality of our products and even our packaging (yes, we made sure your wheels arrive safe and sound, and maybe a bit stylishly).
And if you still haven’t found that perfect wheel that your soul is yearning for, we also do custom orders. Get a unique design with your preferred color and customization of other parameters. After all, your Rivian should be as unique as you are!
We aim to please everyone, so keep an eye on this thread—there’s lots more to come! By the way, if you need tire pressure sensors (TPMS), we’ve got you covered. And the coolest part? We’re now offering complete tire sets. If you’re interested, drop us a line, and we’ll sort you out.

And now, to brighten your day, here are some photos of our wheels mounted on Rivian vehicles:

A resource that I would love to see is some sort of tutorial on the decision matrix in buying a wheel. Frankly, my sole criterion has always been "is it round?" As long as I get a positive on that one, I'm good! I see that there's an aesthetic component--that's reasonable. But is that all that goes into the decision? I suspect not, and I'd be way more inclined to drop a few thousand dollars on these things if I better understood the pragmatic aspects (without disregarding the value of aesthetics).
Thanks!

The key selling point is they are forged wheels at a VERY good price. So you have very lightweight and strong wheels, at a price that is about half (or less) of what you'd normally pay for a forged wheel. I belive he now offers flow formed wheels which aren't as strong but at a cheaper price.

I just picked up a set of their AW10 wheels for my R1T. I did the math on the other wheels I've bought during the last 18 months and spent over 20k on wheels for my other cars. I've spent far more on a set and didn't get any better quality than what I got from Atomic.

I can't speak highly enough about what a great value Atomic Wheels are for what you pay. I had a chance to meet Andrew (the owner) in person yesterday and spoke with him for about an hour or so. He is an avid EV owner and is passionate about his wheels and coming up with new designs.

So passionate that he is rocking one style of wheels on one side of his truck and another style on the other side to see which he likes best. It was cool to walk around his truck and see a quick A:B comparison.

Overall great customer service and not just great prices.

Hi! Choosing wheels depends not only on your preferences but also on the use you want to give them. For example, we have the AW08, a wheel specially made for off-road adventures, or the AWZZ model if you’re looking for something lightweight and sporty. For winter, it’s better to go for 20" instead of 22" to improve stability. We can also create something entirely customized for you. Beyond aesthetics—which matter for the look—what you’re looking for in terms of performance is also important.

Is a heavy wheel a must for off-roading? Has anyone actually damaged a lighter wheel? I'm trying to figure out how light I can go without compromising on strength compared to the OEM 21" wheels.

Our AW08 model is specially designed for off-roading, because it has a higher payload than the rest of our wheels. In general, all our wheels are highly durable since they’re fully forged, but this design is specifically built for that purpose.

Are there any photos of the AW08 installed on a Rivian, either from Atomic or a private owner?

It will likely take a lot to break any of these forged wheels. I'm not saying it is impossible, but they will take a lot of punishment. If you are solely on the road, any of these would likely be stronger than the factory 21s. I think the only actual forged wheels from Rivian are the 20s that come with the AT tires.

Forged wheels are much stronger than flow formed wheels (like the 21's and 22's). Almost any of the Atomic Wheels are much lighter than the lightest factory Rivian wheels. If you plan to go offroad, I'd lean toward the beefier AW wheels that are around 30 pounds or more. This still would still provide a significant weight savings over the Rivian factory forged 20" wheel. I think they are pretty close to 36 pounds (with the 20" AT tire, about 88 pounds). The stock 21's weigh about 42 pounds (and with 21" all season 79 pounds).

I bought the AW10's (31 pounds) and will likely go with the Goodyear Territory AT's (42 pounds) for a total weight of about 73 pounds. I have a set of the 20" factory wheels with AT tires and currently running the 21" factory wheels with the all seasons. So over the 20" wheels and tires I'll save about 15 pounds and over the 21" wheel combo 6 pounds. I could save even more with a lighter tire but even 6 pounds per wheel is pretty significant when talking about unsprung (and rotational) mass.

One thing to note is if you go with the 20" AW10's, they are a 9" wide wheel. I think all the others are 8.5", including the 22" AW10s. This makes them a bit heavier than if they were 8.5" wide. You also might to watch your tire choice more carefully. For example, the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 275/60/20 are a fairly narrow tire and might not be the best option.

GIven the price of the AW wheels and their quality, it was pretty easy to choose them. Saving 6 pounds per wheel is very significant. On my Tesla model Y, I saved about 3 pounds per wheel for forged wheels and it make a very noticeable difference in the driving dynamics. On my Plaid I saved about 6 pounds per wheel and the car felt a lot more nimble, almost like it was in track mode when it wasn't. I also spent a lot more to save the 6 pounds per wheel than I did going with Atomic Wheels.

I had a chance to stop by Atomic Wheels a few times lately. Had a hard time making a decision on my wheels. So I ended up looking at several different wheel styles for both my Rivian and Tesla. I have to say these wheels are the real deal.

They are very well made and very lightweight. The finishes are quite nice. If you can't find the color or style you want, they can custom make them for you. Normally you would pay a lot more for wheels of this quality. For the cost savings compared to other companies, I can on road and off road wheels.

I probably was a wheel snob before. Atomic Wheels has definitely changed my value proposition calculus. You can pay a lot more and not get any better wheels. They bundle options that some companies charge you extra for like knurling the rim edge for better tire grip. With their black Friday specials going on, its a great time to pick up a set. The cost savings more than covered my TPMS sensors.
