    Dual Motor Noise Comparison

Nothing better than the sound of some turbo spool. Except maybe for the sound of a large volume, naturally aspirated V8. Or maybe the space sound my ID 4 makes. Come to think of it, I love all car sounds. Except for the sound of a jalopy dragging it's oil pan. That sucks.

“Google-backed EV charging startup Gravity opens fastest public chargers in the US”

Unless your trailer is a pop up theater. Then you fit right in and get bonus points. Actually, these should be free to use as long as the owner of charging vehicle agrees to act out a stream of monologues selected by passersby. There's got to be a business model that works here.

    Rivian tonneau fix appointments

Finally got the call and set appt for early May. They said it would take a few days and would provide a loaner, but possibly not R1 depending on availability. Glad Gaithersburg finally got it's hands on the some of these parts. I'll report back when it's real.

    Tracking efficiency

Does it track overall efficiency including losses from idle, vampire drain, etc? It seems to show these things independently but I can't see anywhere that it is shows the entire picture for the truck. Seems an obvious miss - unless I'm the one missing it.

Hibernation is possible. 20% battery vampire drain after parked & idle for 31 days

Agreed. This result is reasonable for today's Rivians but it's not great. My results with an ID.4 are in line with what you quoted for your Ioniq 5. Usually loses about 1-2% for a week when sitting idle in the garage. I am hopeful that the new network architecture Rivian is kicking off later...

    Rivian tonneau fix appointments

Nothing here in Baltimore / DC either. I did call service to see if I could get some info, but no update or timeline available.

Thanks for posting review. Any follow up after a few months of use? Still doing the trick for your use case? (mine is similar)

    Rivian tonneau fix appointments

Curious if anyone has been called to schedule one of these appointments? My service ticket has been in since Dec 2022 and I'm sure there are many ahead of me. I'd love my tonneau fixed before the new year but unclear how quickly they'll be tackling this. Let us know your experiences. (I will...

    5 tire rotation experiences?

I did the 5 tire rotation. Used only rivian tools that came with the truck. Took about 35-40 minutes. No issues encountered during the process. I do think I'll get an aftermarket puck (the included one is plastic and not sure about durability) and use a proper jack to make things faster.

Official Rivian Bike Pad for R1T Tailgate - First Look! 🚴‍♀️ (updated w/ photos in use)

They have the freedom to design a lot of things. This pad is great, but it doesn't do anything special other than let you see the light bar. Any medium sized pad also shows the side brake lights. As someone mentioned, they should use their design time to find a good solution for 12,000 tonneau...

Dumb Question on Tire Rotations -- how often? 5 wheel rotation?

I did mine on my own at 5K. I had a spare so am using it for a 5 wheel rotation. My T is running the 22s and looking at the fronts during the process, I'm glad I did it at 5k. We'll see how long these things last and I'm not guessing too long. They are fun though!

Show us your Mountain/Gravel/Road Bike MTB - Rivian Style!

Best thread ever! My FS is called Pond Scum AF, because that's what it is (aluminum Ripley). Of course the fork and shock have been swapped out for a Pike and Super Deluxe and the tires replaced and everything else probably swapped too. Except the seatpost. That PNW loam has been trusty and...

    R1T and Mountain Biking

Just an update on this. I've been using the bomber for my mtb and Gravel bikes for the last 4 months. Experience has been essentially flawless and since it doesn't take much room, I just leave it on the truck (quite minimalist). It requires two mini straps that click in and one strap from top...

Rivian E-Bike is Coming. RJ Tells Staff Electric Bike in Development

My R1T might not have a functional tonneau, but it still carries my bike just fine. And, you'd better believe I'm all in on an ebike with hydraulic cross-linking of it's adaptive dampers in the fork and shock. Perhaps it will have regen downhill too so I can avoid brake fade and spend more time...
