I am thinking also that getting a guide is a step but is not necessarily a home run. We will see how things play out.

So far no PBA and no 8 steps.
When I got the 8 steps previously, it happened less than 24hrs from when I had my guide intro, completed the PBA and lock my config. really believe u are close and are pulling for you and everyone to get their trucks

I got pba after guide call and 8 steps a week later.

I can assure you that getting a guide at this point doesn't mean what it used too. I believe in one of the previous Rivian emails they stated they intended to get everyone that had a 2022 delivery estimate assigned to a guide and get configs locked in. Either way I have had a guide since 4/28 and still no truck. I have even offered to take another config if it meant getting my truck sooner. I have a signed PBA from 4/28 also. I was told i was assigned a VIN onn 5/16 that was "In production" but no update since then on where in the process it is or any type of time frame despite numerous attempts to obtain such info. I am completely in the dark.
If it makes you feel any better, I ordered four months before you (similar build) and have never been assigned guide. So maybe that's one shade darker than your dark? :)

Just got off the phone with our guide.
Somehow she confirms the July-September delivery window for a R1S however at the end of the conversation she confirmed that OC interiors would not be delivered before this fall (jokingly mentioned September 22nd at the earliest).
Confirmed address, names, explained process, asked about trade in, took notes on a couple other things.
Side note: the call started 15 minutes after scheduled time - had already sent an email to confirm as we are on vacation and didn’t want to spend an hour waiting around. Call lasted about 30 minutes.

Picked up my truck at the El Segundo Service Center today.

The whole process including with my trade in was super easy. My delivery specialist was thorough with information, really fun to talk too and excited to get me up and running. I also brought the service team 2 dozen donuts which is always a good start.

Only one known issue. The Underside of the hood needs a respray just in one section that they will take care of down the line when it's in for service. Nobody will ever notice, but they flagged it before I saw it.

Probably the best car purchase and pick up experience I have had. I ended up with the truck I wanted a few weeks before the start of my stated delivery window. That's pretty good despite all my insane speculation and consternation over the last 6 months as we wondered what information we could trust.

Yeah - it's funny how for the last few weeks I've felt like I was way behind schedule. Seeing people will recent orders getting trucks destroyed any sense of timeline and just made me mental - but they did deliver ahead of the original timeline they gave me by a significant amount. My guide reminded me that the other day and it helped restore my lost perspective on the whole thing and be even more grateful.

I'm super excited to have it for summer actives. I can't get over fun it is to drive. Looking forward to seeing more and more of us on the road.

My 8-step process opened up yesterday AM. I've spent yesterday and today comparison shopping insurance, financing, and trade-in. I went with outside options for all 3. Rivian wasn't competitive for me for any of those services.

Today, I signed the buyer's agreement and my guide scheduled my delivery for 3 weeks out even though my R1T is still in transit. I prefer this so I can make sure I am not busy that day (chose Saturday).

So far, the process has been great. My guide was even very helpful in answering all my questions about the purchase agreement and process. This is way better than anything I have ever experienced at a dealership. I love being able to do everything from home!

Congrats! I only went with Rivian insurance since if i ever have a claim, they will fix thru their SC and will be prioritized. My truck is still in Normal so hoping I can get it in 2 weeks as I already have PPF and powder coating wheels scheduled

I contacted CS this week for the first time ever. (July 2020 reservation.) I told them that I'm paying all cash, have no trade-in, and already have an insurance quote from a third-party. I doubt it will move the needle but people keep leap frogging me so I figured it was time to put on some a nice outfit and comb my hair...

What's your plan for PPF and power coating wheels? I too am considering doing both of these, but haven't scheduled anything yet.

Am going to do a full front PPF (full hood, front bumper, front fender, A pillar, mirror caps) via an xpel installer. Going to PPF the door handles, and lower door rockers myself since it should be fairly easy since there are not a lot of curves. As for the wheels, plan is to powder coat them satin black but will decide once I go to my powder coater. Was also thinking ceramic coat as well but I frequently wash and wax my vehicles so don't know it its worth it.. Also thinking of debagging the Rivian logo on the back or plastidip it black as well

So far no additional contact since getting a guide (6/8/22). My guide has been responsive but does not have any more idea than myself if or when the purchase process will be available.

I am thinking with all the chaos of recent weeks and resulting shuffling I fell out of the delivery window but was inadvertently assigned a guide. This makes sense to me because I still do not see how my pre order date of 3/21 gets me an R1T this year.

For now I am good with having a guide and at least knowing that my account is visible in their system.

It is great to see many folks in this delivery window actually get their R1Ts and enjoying them. My hope is that not too many folks were jumped over by folks with much newer pre order dates.
