This is a really helpful thread other than half of the content being dedicated to defending to the death the lack of storage for sunglasses :). As said already, let people gripe; useful information is being provided.

Turning off wireless charging is a great option in vehicles. In all the vehicles I have had, I am yet to be happy with wireless charging since the rate of charge seems so slow, it can be touchy getting the phone in the right position, and it makes the phone pretty hot (iPhones anyway). I turned it off in my XC90 and now it is a nice phone, wallet, or other item holder.

For all the reasons you listed I loved my 2020 Passport because it had the ability to turn of the wireless charging pad. Really hoped it be a toggle setting on my MY and hoping Rivian will allow it to be disabled also.

The wiper stalk can spay the rear window when pushed all the way in toward the dash -- it also sprays the camera at the same time.

I'm surprised that the lack of a wiper stalk is not a gripe. Who wants to take their eyes off the road to change the wiper speed?

We've entered a bizarre era when customers are irritated when a vehicle isn't manufactured to meet every single one of their highly specific desires. It does make for pretty unintentionally hilarious forum threads.
This is not a new phenomenon. Look at every single vehicle specific web forum since….usenet ?

I reached out to my guide this morning suggesting they setup a "suggestion box" at Rivian much like Tesla has.

My gripes:
Controls on the steering wheel should light up in some form.
No overhead ambient light for the cabin (every car i've had for the past 10 years has this).
No ambient light under the dash for the lower center console.

Things that could be fixed with software tweaks:
Dedicated on screen camera button. My suggestion was next to the lock button on the top. This could also be fixed with a dedicated camera button (That didn't move) on the bottom navigation

Footwell lights should be able to be turned on WITHOUT the other ambient door/dash lighting

On Screen button to roll up and down ALL windows at once

I know i have a bunch more too but it's to early for me.

Uh, it's not a new Tesla. There's a wiper stalk with a hardware button. Up and down on the switch to increase and decrease. There is a driver screen pop up that confirms exactly which mode you're in, but you can easily infer that from the wiper speed just as you would moving a stalk up and down.

But also, the auto mode works, and I find no need to manually adjust the wiper speed. Tap on the end for one wipe, hold for spray. It's very easy to operate with the hardware stalk and not at all buried in on screen menus.

Good to know the auto mode works well. My MINI is the first car I've had with auto wipers and it's pretty awful. It delays too long before wiping often and then when it does increase speed it's usually too fast. And because it has an auto mode, there's no separate intermittent mode where you can choose the delay. All the selector does is change the "sensitivity", whatever that means. But I rarely use them because it's just not a good experience.

it works well when actively raining, but I do miss the simple one tap one wipe for after the rain when it has a few spots.

As @timesinks mentioned earlier in this thread (and I can confirm), it has that. Just tap the end cap button on the left stalk. One short press = one wipe.

thanks!

have you also noticed the fans spraying water onto the windshield? I noticed this today, water dripping down the hood gets sprayed by the fans up onto the windshield.

There is a pocket in the driver and passenger side door, right? Rivian or maybe someone here suggested a water bottle might fit. Can't you keep you case in there and use to store sunglasses in when off?

it wont stay put..

No usb PD. The nice usbc ports we have are not going to rapidly charge your phone.
